It'd help me if we went back to imperial measurements for everything. I used metric at school but I cannot get along with or envisage anything. When we leave the EU we should go back to gallons
Its strange, but at 67 years old I can´t now think in Fahrenheit, and struggle when the satnav tells me distances in feet. Have no problems with meters or kilometers (or miles come to that), but still use feet and inches for smaller measurements, and haven´t got to grips with kilometers per litre (still think in miles per gallon). Hopefully the younger generation are not as stuck in the mud as I am.It'd help me if we went back to imperial measurements for everything. Can’t do litres to kilometres, it just don’t mean anything. I do get on people’s nerves though when I measure things, I go to the nearest full measurement for example a sheet of wood might end up getting measured at 1 metre by 4 foot ( 4 foot is a rounded number whereas it’s metric equivalent 1250mm isn’t)Its strange, but at 67 years old I can´t now think in Fahrenheit, and struggle when the satnav tells me distances in feet. The thing that sticks in my mind is that Eric Lubbock (One time Liberal MP for Orpington) was the yard of ale champion for Downe. They don´t make MPs like that anymore!Anybody remember the old yard of ale? How many pints were in that? Now it's all shots and sh*t
I wonder if they do a wrap of £20 notesWrap it in money?be unique
I think I have seen it on TV, was it a glass thing with a ball on the end?Anybody remember the old yard of ale? How many pints were in that? Now it's all shots and sh*t
I only drink Guinness and to try a yard of that would finish me. A yard of Jaffa Cakes on the other handI thought that it was something over 2 pints, just looked on Wiki and it recons around 2.5 pints.
