Confused over E51 vs E52

This is what all the modern smart keys do anyway I would assume Elgrand will be the same.( I work for Renault / Nissan )

Went back to see the original e52 I liked today.
And this time I drove it, drove lovely very smooth and very good pickup no rattling etc which you would expect with a 110k miles car,
Leather was still good and bodywork had only a couple of stone chips.
Tyres all decent tread Michelin's
It's an autech Ryder 3.5 4wd 55l LPG conversion.
Soft close boot power doors android auto roof TV heated seats.
The car is up at 11500 and I really like it, he claims it's had CVT service just over a year ago when the LPG got fitted but hasnt got papers and the car only has 1 smart key

Is this a decent price to go for as I've seen e51s for this money and e52s for less but can't really fault this car .

Also has anyone had a new key made up do you know roughhly the price ?

Sounds like a absolute steal Johnny! When you say ‘no papers’ do you mean no papers at all or no papers for the service?

No paper sfor the CVT service but I guess I can just get it done myself to be cautious.

Here is a link to the advert if you don't mind giving me your thoughts

The CVT service is only a fluid change. Syphon out the dirty fluid, measure the volume removed and put exactly the same amount in with fresh fluid. Don’t skimp on the fluid, buy the OEM stuff. I think it’s made out of unicorn tears….. so expensive but critical.

That looks amazing in the pics! 👍👍👍
Price and mileage seem good to you then ? Just seeing ones down south lower mileage and cheaper but I guess spec makes a big difference .it also has electric front seats and electric rear fold up and down back bench.

BTW, an auto specialist has told me the CVT in the 52 is bulletproof. Unlike other Jatco CVT gearboxes, the ones in the Elgrand are great. He also told me to leave mine alone!!!

As an engineer, I don’t fancy leaving it alone and plan to do the change myself. 🤣🤣🤣

Price and mileage are really, really good. I’ve seen similar for 2 or 3k more. Check the history mate…..👍

Yeh I seen a post before that the CVT in this is the best and I would say it drives a lot nicer than my 2019 koleos CVT.
I'll see if there's any movement on price to pay for a new key and hopefully pickup on Sunday :)

Best of luck with it Johnny, really does look like a great motor. 👍👍👍

Tyres all decent tread Michelin's
Good sign it's been looked after...

Good sign the original owner was minted and had enough money to look after it
55l LPG conversion.
Saves you about £1600+ on getting your own conversion and halves your fuel costs. Consider LPG service now, on the assumption it hasn't ever been done. Should you find the 55l tank too small, Lpgc of this forum has fitted massive tanks in the rear boot coffin bit.

I am drooling....

100% didn't happen. The fluid costs a lot and has to be right. Source the right stuff and do it yourself.
and the car only has 1 smart key
Someone did a guide here for the E51, don't know if it works for the E52.

Don't worry about the price too much - paying a premium for a good car is worth it. The LPG alone will save you a bloody fortune so I agree with the others - go for it 👍
