Drove another £high VW T6 camper van again the other day, probably worth £50k, came in to me for repair to its naff LPG system fitted by another firm and a few other bits sorting.
The few other bits needed access to a specialist computer I don't have, but a firm I've done some work for has, so I called them and asked if I could use their computer for 5 minutes, they had no problem letting me do that.
The firm have 20 or so VW vans (hence they have said computer) and loads of bigger vehicles such as large pickups that originally had big diesel engines fitted, except the firm remove the diesel engines to fit big V8 engines and convert the V8s to run on LPG. Though I did swap a gearbox on a VW van while I was there doing LPG work for them
. The firm don't do outside work, their mechanics dept that I did some work for is purely to look after their own fleet of vehicles including said VW vans and said V8 LPG converted pickups.
Would I prefer to own a VW T6 over the Elgrand? Yes, but only because then I could sell it, buy another Elgrand and still bank loads of money. I prefer the Elgrand in most respects even if I do like 3 seats in the front.
