Anyone youngish had any luck I'm 27 with 9 years no claims and am unsure where to look but confused.com said £700
I'm struggling.
545 is my best Adrian Flux, Direct Line 637.
My problem is I can't use my NCB as its on another vehicle, I have 3 plus the missus's where i'm also a named driver.
These policies all have different renewal dates, #1 car August, #2 car March, Missus september, Elgrand gonna be now. I dont know whether combining these all will be any cheaper. Any thoughts? 9+ NCB (that i dont think can be used), 49yrs old.
Its getting better. Admiral is 493.Try Admiral Multicar, we did this and they put the first car on then as the second and third come up for renewal you move them over and the discount increased.
We have a 2012 Alfa Giulietta 2.0 JTDM-2 Veloce, 2007 BMW 650i Sport and 2007 Elgrand 3.5 HWS and the pay ~£100/mnth , that myself and my wife on all the cars.
Had a decent quote from Direct Line (£465) then went to Green light who said they would not insure my London post code. Hey hoInsurance is always a hot topic of conversation, especially when it comes to Japanese Imports.
As a general rule of thumb, there should be no real "premiums" for insuring the Elgrand over any other vehicle in it's class. The problem you may find is that insurance databases are not always as up to date as they should be when it comes to imports.
Typically, you want to be going for a Japanese Import Specialist insurer. These are usually the best in terms of keeping up to date with import vehicles on their database. They will also, USUALLY, be the most competitive.
Do NOT bother wasting time with comparison sites for your Elgrand... they will throw up ridiculous quotes and just be a waste of your time. Go to insurance companies directly.
My general advice to anyone who asks is to follow the below:
Contact Adrian Flux. Give them all your details and get a quote - I would not recommend taking a policy out with Flux due to the level of complaints I have seen/heard from people in the event of a claim. But, this is just hearsay really, so it's up to you if you choose to insure with them.
Ring Sky Insurance, give them all your details and the quote you got from Flux, they will, most of the time, beat it.
Ring GreenLight Insurance (our Insurance partner), give them your details, give them your cheapest quote, and then tell them you are a member of ElgrandOC to get your 15% discount. If they cannot beat the quote from Sky, go with them.
There are a lot of members who are more than happy, or have had their best quotes from some of the normal, big name insurance companies such as Direct Line, Admiral, Aviva etc. So if you really want to get a comparison across the board, ring some known insurance companies too and see if they can be competitive or not. But I would advise you ring the three Jap Import Specialist insurers listed above first, and then go to the big known insurance companies.
There is a whole different routine you will have to take to insure a FRESH IMPORT that has NOT BEEN REGISTERED. You need to insure on the Chassis number etc, and things are more complicated overall... so if you are looking at insuring an Elgrand off the boat to get in home for MOT etc, then please check in the "Import Experiences" forum section to see what others have done.
Hope this helps.
thats sh1t when they wont do your postcode, thats so arbitary and out of your handsHad a decent quote from Direct Line (£465) then went to Green light who said they would not insure my London post code. Hey ho
There isn't such a think as a 'cheap' motor insurer. Every one has their own individual niche and risk profile of customer they target. Unfortunatelythey only tell customers if they actually want their business by providing either higher or lower quotes. A stupid quote basically means they don't want your business, as you aren't in the group they want. You won't know which one actually wants you until you ask them all (or use a comparison site!!) Good luckAnyone any tips for full campervan conversion insurance?
Go Compare and enter all the correct information.Anyone any tips for full campervan conversion insurance?
It shows the models but doesn't seem to allow for the detail of the conversions to the body; e.g. pop-up roof etc ... I'm nervous of small print if it's not submitted correctly. I guess it's a case of phoning the companies directly when they come up on the basic search?Go Compare and enter all the correct information.
You're no doubt right ... a lot of phoning around I suspect to be careful it's all really covered! There isn't such a think as a 'cheap' motor insurer. Get a quote for the Elgrand then click on the best one that covers your needs. When it takes you to the company site you can often add stuff from there. If not you'll have to call them but if you have gone through Go Compare then you'll get the additional excess cover which just a little bonus but better than nothing. It shows the models but doesn't seem to allow for the detail of the conversions to the body; e.g. pop-up roof etc ... That’s not bad - thanks!Caravan Guard motorhome insurance. Mine is a camper and my insurance is £340 per year.
(Hint: they like it to be kept in a secure place eg behind a lockable gate.)
