WHAT THE FUCK???!!!!

If I was in your position I would hotfoot it down to the local Van rental company and rent him a Transit Van, pay by the day deals.

It will be well worth the outlay in the long run…….

I can see the conversation when he brings the Elgrand back -

“ Dad it was making that noise when I took it and it was smoking like steam train as we joined the motorway.”

😖
gears already in motion on that one bud, knowing my luck the conversation would also contain the sentence 'are new Rider bumpers expensive dad'😩

In my defence...I had a Skyline 32r lined up from an importer - this was around 20 years ago. Can't remember who but he was called Patrick in Japan. All ready to pay for and my wife saw a little red car at the Shell garage being fueled and convinced me to get one.
(We'd only been married 12 months so I was "compliant")
I never did get the Skyline. She was pregnant 12 months later and the Cappuccino got sold.
It was a good little car though to be fair. Had plenty of fun in it. Especially remember being in Windermere and getting a crowd around asking lots of questions whilst a Ferrari next to me was ignored and the ferrari owners face was brilliant!
I was quite proud of our little cappuccino. I have no issues with driving a small car!

(I have also owned a Fiat Multipla - so there.)
Only joshing mate, TBH I had a thing about the Multipla, nearly bought one (the 1st gen REALLY UGLY one). Always had a thing about quirky cars, probably why I bought a Triumph 1300 when all my mates had MK1 Escorts..

You know that it is around the corner, but months away you get a "Get your state Pension" letter, WTF more bunce what's not to like :)👍

I f******g hate it when people do this.. free parking everywhere but they insist on blocking my driveway...16227964217304041523021927343770.jpg

Arguably, the wheels of said vehicle are on the right side of the dropped kerb, so not sure there is any issue here legally other then being an ignorant with a sense of entitlement. I don't believe they could be done for anything just because of the lengthn if their vehicle overhanging a little. Can the OP access the highway? Most probably from the picture evidence. We have this issue most days with people parked across the drives of houses across from us, and either side. Makes getting the Elgrand out interesting and getting it back on the drive a four point reversing manuovre. But parking like a tool isn't something that would stick as a grounds for issuing a charge.

Is that blocked?
Looool where i am it constitutes a blocked kerb. Drivers have to be clear of atleast 1.5 mtres of the dropped kerb or get ticket.

Downside is from reporting to LA turning up is about 2 hours...by that time they're usually gone...

Getting the Elgrand in and out is very fun when they do it on both sides....

Yeah I can see how it makes getting in and out a bit trickier, but not blocked as such. I do get this myself sometimes but try not to get too wound up about it, there are worse things in life.

Some entitled person once block the girlfriends driveway so myself and her son blocked her in, oh did she get a telling off when she rang the doorbell and asked "do you know who those two car belong to" lol

Council or Police in some areas won't do anything if your driveway is blocked and your car is not on the driveway, happened to a bloke years ago so he opened up his garage and took his sons ELC car out and plonked it on the drive, its a car he said ;o))))

just before i got my Elgrand someone pulled up across my drive and got out to get their child from school as i had my delica at the time i just pushed it of and onto the road and pulled up on my drive mayhem ensued as the car was partly blocking the road

U are right, more going on the world to allow this to get under my skin....it just aggs me that people think its ok to leave their cars hanging over or blocking, causing me a nuisance!! luckily the mrs has taken the Elgrand to tamworth to her mums for a few days and i got the go cart (aygo) for a few days so easier to get in and out...

I lived for many years in a seaside resort <5mins walk from the beach, quite often I would return from a Saturday shop to find no parking space outside my house (I lived in a row of eight cottages) the offender was invariably a holiday-maker trying to dodge the beach car park fee. As it was a wide road I would often park alongside the visitor, unload my bags and go about the rest of my day. My neighbours were all in on the scheme and we would act dumb as each of our doors were knocked asking whose car is preventing them from returning home. Tee hee...

Blasted DVLA. Yet another week of industrial action ( aka a week sunbathing at home).
Sent off my paperwork for change of fuel 19th April..."4 week processing time" my bum. Last time I checked, at the 4 weeks, they had no idea and said "call back in two weeks".
Web chat and phones non functional/auto shut off due to staff strike.
I have no idea why you can only change some details online. Objectively, there's no more "risk".
I hear the complaints are over "unsafe" working environment with COVID. Honestly, the types that are claiming that need to take a serious look at themselves. The government real estate is ancient, poorly suited to any sort of social distancing. I've spent 4 years with one branch of the civil service. The building was shocking, no air movement, even with windows open, then desk fans were restricted to those with health conditions, then removed due to Covid.... Here's an idea.... Don't renew rental contracts on buildings that are not fit for purpose. Let your staff work from home - there's no reason viably why it can't be done, as well they know after a year of it. Productivity won't be affected, service will actually improve due. Shirkers and shysters will always be an issue, but having watch the Civil service in action, people take the mick with impunity even in the office. One woman routinely rocked up and clocked in at 8am, the spent 90 mins chatting, doing her hair, makeup, wandering between her mates, then had a "technical problem" and only ever managed 1 case a day if that some days. Management just shuffled her about rather then deck her for gross incompetence due to the Union and her crying "bullying".
Grow up.

There are nurses and carers risking their lives right now, and some desk based pencil pusher wants to cry foul over being sat less than 2 metres away from a colleague? I can assure you, they are not 2 metres away from everyone when they go to make a brew, chat in the corridor, go for a fag break and certainly not when they go to the pub.
Sertwokta has corrupted the civil service union with his virulent anti Tory rhetoric and sod all interested in assuring workers rights in a neutral civil service.

And breathe....🤐

And the final insult? We're all paying for it, and have no fooking choice but to pay for it.
