What have you done to your Elgrand today?

If I pressed the CD button on the stock headunit, it would cycle between the discs inserted. The music just played and you could skip the tracks etc...

The one I've just removed has Nissan emblazoned all over it. Not sure but maybe a Kenwood would be aftermarket and possibly work differently?

Spotify is the future 👍
Cheers for the reply, I tried that 🤷‍♂️
I have a cyclone 4 to set up and fit to the rear AVI socket and have fitted a Bluetooth radio transmitter so can play music from my phone, that will have to do for now. 🚌

Holy shit!!! Right thats it.. im off to the garage to get wire wool and polish..

I spent about 10 minutes on mine. My main problem was looking at the back box and thinking if I polish the tip, I've got to polish it all lol so I gave it up before I got too invested.

I feel as though I am missing out, as I haven’t got a 3D printer I am off to go and polish my tip 🙄🤣🤣

Blimey, I actually teach CAD and CAE and never even thought about the possibility of design and printing stuff for the van! Now you’ve set the seed the floodgates will open .... I was wondering how best to secure my cool box to one of the bungee points in the back, I can feel a bespoke bracket coming on!!

My tip is nowhere near as impressive as yours. You must be really good at polishing one off.

There's a clear difference there 👍👍 What polish were you using?

I use plenty of autosol with kitchen towel, then more autosol and wire wool, then repeat from beginning a few times. End with fresh kitchen roll to buff off.

I did have it in quite an awkward grasp sometimes and I'm sure it looked like I was pleasuring the van 😂

Pop the end cover of the rail up to reveal the stopper.
Remove the rear tailgate trim.
Lift carpet up just enough that you can get a spanner to undo the bolt at the end of the rail.
When bolts out you can remove the stopper.
Slide the rails out.
Re fit the stoppers and put carpet back down.
Job done✔
Takes about 20mins

cheers bud, I will give a go!!

Nothing on my either of my own 2 Elgrands but they (or at least one) are in dire need of cleaning soon.

Today I have almost completed LPG conversion + fitting vapour take off system + spark plugs change on a customer's Elgrand that came in only yesterday afternoon. Probably broke my own record of minimum time to convert an Elgrand (having had to work further into the evening than usual). Started work immediately yesterday afternoon, I just have the lube system and engine bay trim to refit now (bracket for lube system fabricated and paint drying in the garage at the moment).

Had to get this one done rather quickly as I have another Elgrand coming in for LPG conversion tomorrow (Monday) and we're going to the Santapod replacement meet on Friday morning. The Elgrand coming in for LPG conversion tomorrow belongs to a customer whom I initially put right the LPG system on a Jag for around 6 years ago (Iirc the orginal installer hadn't plumbed the reducer in correctly or calibrated the system correctly) and went on to convert a Skyline with VQ35 to LPG for him around 5 years ago. At the time I converted his Skyline this customer told me he didn't usually allow anyone else (any mechanic) to work on his vehicles because he didn't trust them and he preferred to work on his own vehicles, but he felt confident of coming to me because he had read a lot on LPG forum about my results. On all occasions he is coming from the South to me in Yorkshire. He's not only a member of LPG forum, he's now also a member of this forum (took my advice :)). @57jam89

I have an Elgrand coming in for LPG conversion the same day we return from the Santapod meet (Sunday evening) and another on Wednesday, then again Monday, Wednesday, same again the week after, etc.

Keep them coming!

Well... I am tentatively celebrating today as this is (by 2 whole days) the longest I have been pain free, hopefully I haven't tempted fate there! I am therefore celebrating with posting a pic of the Miyagi and tentacle porn decal that I took whilst in Lincs on our week away. 100_9024.JPG

I hope everyone is well. 😊

Way too many new posts to catch up on, I've given up o_O
