Sold an E50 Lemon?!

If you download the nds2 app and buy the correct lead I got mine off Ebay that will tell you what you need to know but the garage it's at should be able to tell you what codes have come up to of diagnosed the pump
Thanks again Matt, I'll have a look for one. Unfortunately the garage said they weren't able to diagnose it using the kit so resorted to the peddle dance method and will have then only got a flashing EML to diagnose.
Just so you have an idea if the worst case https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193737437827
Much appreciated, good to know that they are out there and gives an idea of the cost! 👍

Hell can you imagine if a bottle of Wynns is all that's needed here?!
I'd try anything first, even hitting it with a hammer.
Definitely! Nothing to lose I'd have that apart quicker than you could say £1400!!

@Cliff Goodwin do I remember you having problems with the pump on one of yours - 3.2?
(And I hope you are OK as long time no see)

Secondhand by way of example:

It might be me but so far the garage doesn't seem to have particularly good or useful, maybe find someone else?
Give the cleaner a try and don't give up hope.

Where abouts are you

I had the fuel metering sensor show up as a code on the ECUTalk software, after I used a fuel can of diesel that unfortunately had a small amount of veg oil in the bottom.
I used a high concentration of injector cleaner, fuel additive in two consecutive fill ups and it got rid of the code cause.
Worth a try?
Certainly is worth a try! I'll give the garage a ring in the morning and arrange to pick it up and this'll be the first thing I do! I'll be over the moon if it sorts the problem after all of this and at little cost!
Do you recommend any particular cleaner and fuel additive?
Sounds random, but this topic came up on an Elgrand Facebook page today. 3.2 randomly cutting out. One of the owners in the conversation, who'd had the same symptoms started using super diesel in his, and not had any problems since, until he put normal diesel in one day and it started playing up again. So maybe its worth running a couple of tanks of premium diesel through it and see if it changes any of the problems
How interesting! 😊 I'll give it a go when I get her back and fill her up with some super and cross my fingers! Thanks for letting me know Rev Rob 👍

Yeah I think you're right, they were recommended to us but it's been a bit of a long drawn out affair, I think as you say it's time to move on will try the cleaner and super diesel and if all else fails will try the diesel specialists that Kermit previously suggested. 👍

I used Wynns injector cleaner, but any decent brand like Redex or STP will do the same job well.
I think the main constituent is Kerosene.

Hi lize yeah I'm all good hope u are too, yes I did have a fuel problem it's quite common the sensor on the fuel pump developed an intermittent fault, virtually impossible to buy without the whole pump as nobody wants to split them, I use Wynn's extreme diesel cleaner when mine plays up but fortunately it's been fine for over a year now since I last used it,

I was reading up and found that the 2.7 terrano pump is the same although part numbers don't match how true it is I don't know but perhaps sensor will be the same if one could be got
Don't they do a 3.2L Terrano abroad? Perhaps that's what they mean?
I've only ever seen 2.7L as the largest Terrano engine in the UK.

Good point I think they did do a 3.2 come to think of it,I thought the 2.7 pump looked different lol

Thanks Elgrandonaut, will give it a go when I pick it up tomorrow.

Hi Cliff, thanks for the info, fingers crossed I will have a similar experience as you, will buy some Wynn's on the way tomorrow morning and fill her up with some fancy diesel. 🤞
