Yeah seen it in situ in a few Elgrand pics. Definitely don’t have that. It’s a mystery.

The little pop up aerial thing? That’s what I’d assumed too, but my aerial is just loose and disconnected so can’t prove it one way or the other.

Mine got that thing at the bottom of the windscreen too, but I haven't got anything heated.

If you have the cold weather pack , the wiper and mirror heaters come on when the rear screen heater is turned on ( I think)
You’ll probably only ever notice them working in freezing conditions

just spotted there seems to be heating elements directly under the wiper blades. I don’t have an under dash button so I’d assumed I didn’t have this option.

Mine literally sit under the wiper blade and you can barely see them unless you lift the blades up. Certainly don’t look as thick as that.

EDIT - just realised that’s a reflection of your finger and not the actual size of it! So yeah probs the same

That's what made me think too. I'd kind of dismissed it as not having one, as I also don't have the rocker switch, but then this thread makes me think otherwise. I've only used the rear demister switch once, last Tuesday morning up the Brecon Beacons, but I wasn't paying attention to if anything was happening on the front. I had read once that the 'heat pack''s heated windscreen only does by the wiper blades.....which is what we've got.

I'm going over to Colin Prices again sometime thing week, to see if the service bloke is back after being ill (he's scheduled to be), so I'll have a look at a few on his forecourt.

I’m just going by what I’ve read on here myself in the past.
Mine only has heat on the wing mirrors not the front screen and no switch, so maybe a switch could be for screen , I don’t know

Do yours have any visual indication (lines/symbol etc) that the wing mirrors are heated, or did you just find out via using the rear window demister?

i was just wondering about windscreens for our van's ? i don't need one but are they available here in the UK just in case ?

I got one when mine got cracked, it was £690 through Auto glass.

That helped me out actually. I learn something everyday too.
I wondered, the other day when I had the rear demister on after a degree C camp, why the rear side back windows weren't defrosting, but I kind of forgot about it by the time I got back. That must explain it- they're not heating things

That's what I love about the Elgrand OC we can all help each other, with the bits of information we know, and you don't get abused if you get something wrong, everyone is so friendly. Not like on FB.

I was checking because I have a S2 Rider S and I have a small button that controls the footwell lights in the front and the small lights that are on the B pillar in the back. It changes their colour and can even make then run through a changing sequence all on their own. It took me ages to realise what my small button did because I didn't want to press it not knowing what was going to happen. If you haven't had your windscreen changed yet, maybe try it and see if it does demist the screen. Or maybe someone else knows what your button could be. It may be something the previous owner fitted, and it will be trial and error to see what it does. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

just had a look on the Autoglass website, a chip repair cost £225 still, cheaper than a grand for a new one.

Just had a heated screen with sensor fitted in a mates ford, 260.

That's the one (the yellow one) which will auto dip the mirrors when you go into reverse. If yours don't do that, it'll be in the 'off' position. Next time you get in it, flip it and go into reverse. The side mirrors will dip.

Mine got a black line near the bottom of them, but I'm sure that's just a blind spot bit built in.
