What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Got a working spare key with much thanks to @Londonglide

BTW Phil, stripped it down and doused it with contact cleaner and all buttons now working - we were wondering if it was a duff unit I'd be sent but turns out it was just a dirty one!

Off to Brands in it tomorrow for the Masters Historic Festival, first time camping in it so fingers crossed for agreeable weather!

I cleaned one of mine by dropping the PCB into half a cup of surgical spirit, pressing the buttons while submerged and leaving a few hours, dried with hairdryer then overnight on airing cupboard. It sorted the problem and is still working.

Fortunately due to the weather, after taking it to bits and blasting it with contact cleaner, all of the bits were bone dry again within 5 mins :-)

Been out giving my Elgrand a bit of a spruce up today ready for JDM Coombe and had this parcel delivered from Japan

Delivery.jpg

Outer box opened and packaging got rid of

Delivery Open Box.jpg

This Sugra Speed stainless steel Lower Control Arm and the key fob were in the packing at the back of the box

This will now give me a total of 9 underbody braces.

Bought the key fob as an after thought as it was only £2.00 with free shipping in Japan and would have cost virtually nothing to ship in with the rest of the parcel

Looks like it is in better condition than either of the keys that came with my Elgrand and have also bought another for a similar cost which is coming with the next parcel that I have on the way from Japan as easy enough job to program with the SBB that I bought to program the Impul ECU and I thought always handy to have a couple of spares

The box underneath is this still in its original box

Dad Garson Grill Box Delivered.jpg

It's in even better condition than I thought is was with what I think is all the fittings.

It is a I suspected a S2/ S3 grill so will need a bit of modding to fit my S1

Have just gave my engine bay a bit of a tidy up ready for JDM Coombe

Engine Bay.jpg

Bahn Brechen Engine Cover Fitted.jpg

Fitted this catch can a few weeks ago

Got another one to go in but leaving fitting it it until I fit the Plemum Spacer and will do at the same time as well as the cold air feed and box possibly fit both on a alloy custom fixing.

Single Catch Can.jpg

Just been told that I can have the ramp tomorrow at the garage where my grandson works so we are going to get a early start and get the Sugra Speed Lower Control Arm fitted in time to drive up to Coombe on Saturday before I finish off waxing my Elgrand in the afternoon

Just removed drivers front cat ,was about to start passenger side when it start raining sods law when working on driveway, had issues with the bolt that has to come off from underneath but a wobble bar extension kit sorted thing's out will try again tomorrow if weather is better

Just a BIT of a tidy up? If I zoom in (a lot) I can see a speck of dust just under the catch can that you missed
You are right :D

It was a bit of a cobweb that I missed and I also noticed it when I put the picture up.

It is now no more👍

Passenger side front cat now off ,will leave putting new ones on until tomorrow morning, had to use my 40v impact gun to remove both bolts ,may use my 18v gun to put the new bolts in as it's a lot lighter and easier to use, I also have two sets of o2 sensors but one set have different profiles will need to look on line to see if I could use the different profiles one for the rear

Had the rear passenger wheel hub replaced. 4 out of 5 wheel nuts sheared off on my drive from North to South West London. Luckily was round the corner from home, rather than in the 40-50mph North Circular. One more corner and I would have lost the wheel entirely.
Had two different sized spacers in the rear wheels (and none in the front). Not sure if it's likely, but that is what they suggested might have caused or contributed. They're adamant the wheels were properly torqued 6-7 weeks ago when they replaced the rear brake discs and pads, and they have been very trustworthy til now, so 🤷‍♂️
Also new front brakes discs and pads.

Today I completed my side bar light project.

The running light is active when in park or neutral, solid pink when on the move, red when brakes are used and white in reverse. Will need a tweak on the code for the Arduino but pleased with the result.
