What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Just as a point of reference not a recommendation, I’ve had over a tonne in my E51 several times, only a 30/40 mile journey but it drove fine and no after effects. If you think about it, it’s a seven seater, seven average Japanese men would weigh more than 440kg, stick a sumo in shotgun and it’s over a tonne. I’d deffo protect the floor with something to spread the weight mind

But if you were involved in an accident it's the perfect excuse for your insurance to say we're not paying out as the vehicle was overweight by 560kg. And if anyone was badly harmed you could end up in jail if police/lawyers got involved.

Stuck open it could cause low heat yes as the engine won’t really reach proper temp.
As for pinching the new one I personally would still want to test it before fitting ( is it worth the work)

Mine runs the same, just under half way, the heater is toasty and I have to turn it down after a few minutes, any condensation on the screen clears the fastest on any car I've ever had.

To be honest Richard if your coolant is at the right level and so is your running temp and your warm up time hasn't become longer than normal i wouldn't normally suspect the thermostat (not ruling it out though)
I would be more inclined to think more about the heater rad core as they can become restricted and sometimes become blocked and in need of flushing,
There's also the fact that these buses are very funny as far as sensors are concerned so i suppose the cabin temp sensor could also send a duff reading, but then that's ilectrickery and beyond me

This was what annoyed me. Heatup temp was quick. No overheating etc.
I have lpg also that is linked into cooling so wondered if this was an issue but after the flush system its great. Like i literally couldnt clear windscreen condensation ever without a 12v heater so id recommended a proper flush out

just in case people haven't got the instructions filling the radiators I thought I'll put them on might help some people.
I can't remember who put them on but I use this process and it worked perfectly first time One thing I will say is best to have the front of a car up in the air on ramps.

1 bauble wreath for the front door, I told her it was too big - and it is.

I was once contracted to write Risk assessments, RULER assessments and process work elements at a water treatment plant…..since then I’ve never knowingly drank tap water.

What I saw put me off for life.

If the payload is only 440kg, you could be over with just 4 adults in there, let alone the having all eight seats occupied. How would the insurance deal with that - it's an 8 seater and I had eight people in there ?

Well, the average Japanese person weighs considerably less than the average European. I'm just quoting what would have been on the export certificate presented to DVLA. Interpret it as you will.

Had rear Cats removed and replaced with pipes (from New dawn Conversions) perfect fit Gave the removed cats a good inspection and they were immaculate with no signs of contamination from fronts. So hopefully fronts are in good condition
