What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Two new tyres on the rear this aft, after one got a puncture and they were both looking a bit low on tread. That's all 4 replaced in the last4 months so hopefully won't have to worry about tyres for a while now 😁

Alerted by a grinding from the back, I thought I would change the pads.. well.. one of these things is not like the others !

New pads in now & a 20 mile test drive suggests its all good, however I couldnt get the bottom slide pin out on the passenger side (where the bad pad was) - despite half an hour of effort, all I managed to do was sheer the lug off the small socket wrench ..

Disks are just about usable, there was a lot of greasy muck on the pins which ive cleaned up as best I can but I think its going to need a proper strip down & clear up + new disks come MOT time.

Rev, do tell me its pure coincidence that winchester seems to be missing 4 tyres. :joy: 🤣 :joy:

Seized slide pins is quite common on elgrands! I used a blow torch to heat it up on mine when it happened to me.

Yeah - I thought about that but it was getting dark & I was getting frustrated by it !
Yeah been there mate. So frustraighting when you can't get that last one out!!

Purchased from Jegs.com, they ship worldwide
@Winchester how did you find Jegs? I ordered some diff parts for a Cadillac last week, and they’ve still not processed my order, very slow at replying to emails as well.

Not a patch on RockAuto or Summit Racing.

Not today, but Monday evening I gave her a bath, fitted the new shoes, debadged the rear, put in fm band expander & Motion bypass sensor, swapped side lights to LED and put private plate on. 😍

Tonight I took a few bits of ready to be de-chromed 🤪

I found them very easy to deal with... my parts were here in about a week! Maybe your parts aren’t in stock?

That’s good, usually the same with RockAuto and Summit. I’d recommend them if you ever need anything again, even Jap parts.

I’ve had an email overnight from Jegs saying despatched, my parts were in stock and advertised as 24 hour shipping with 2-5 days to the uk, it’s took 7 days to despatch 🤬

You’re exhaust tips look ace by the way 😃

Gave her a thorough clean and polish and put a ceramic coating on to protect over the winter. I was keen to do a full correction but don't have the skills to do myself or the cash to pay someone at the moment, so not a perfect result, but a huge improvement and will do for now!

Looks amazing. Great job 👍

Milo’s turn for underseal today!

Just for the record he's not always that dirty but he just spent two weeks in the south of France!

Also a big 👍 for Adrian's underseal service. Absolutely outstanding job and loved the before and after photos.

I have been over the E51 today to check if I missed anything when I picked it up. I checked the oil colour and found the last service reminder. Next service is due on about 1000 km. I won’t wait that long though.
