What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Is the towing eye functional or for show?
Mines functional to a degree, it’s bolted through the bumper support/crash extention as some would call it , it would be ok for a straight pull but wouldn’t want to snatch at it ( track days would be out as the crews that pull you off in an emergency are just wrong uns lol )

Made six tie down eyes to fit the seat tracks, the rear plastic eyes are next to useless for fastening down, being plastic and only pushed in, not screwed. I used 8mm coach bolts and cut two sides off of the bolts, these are the correct size to fit into the tracks and when pushed down and turned 90 degrees grip the seat tracks. The lifting eyes have lock nuts and can be in line with the tracks or across them at 90 degrees. The clamping nuts are then tightened to lock them down. Total cost about £2 each, £12 in total. 20251010_174100.jpg20251010_174128.jpg

In my (probably obsessive) quest to have everything tied down while driving I have a solution to where to store the disklok steering lock, it was kept on the floor behind the drivers seat jammed in place with the second row seat pushed forward to hold it, not ideal as it had to be placed in the boot when I had passengers on board, where it slid about. So I used a 25mm webbing strap (just over 1 metre required) and buckle held onto the drivers seat rear cover (see first pic). This will pull into the gap without removal with a bit of fiddling about, you can apparently remove the rear panel by pulling it off but it requires someone stronger and braver than me, (I did try). the Disklok can now be placed on the floor against the back of the drivers seat and buckled up but catches on the floor a little if you move the seat. The second pic shows a bracket I made to keep the disklok off of the floor so it moves with the seat, this fastens behind the foot support bar and is fairly unobtrusive and allows the footrest to remain in place but can only be used if the diskloc is not strapped in. Third pic shows where the bracket fits and fourth pic shows the disklok in place. There is still plenty of legroom for the rear seat passenger.20251011_115037.jpg20251011_114049.jpg20251011_114235.jpg20251011_115530.jpg

Successfully programmed a new key and fob using the SBB Pro2 that I got from AliExpress following these fantastic guides:
So happy, that I've ordered another blank key for complete piece of mind.

If anyone in the Teesside area needs help programming a blank key transponder and fob then ping me.

I think I may have found a potential battery drain.

I happened to sit in the back yesterday and noticed the IR LEDs on the rear screen were still lit.
I'll set my phone to record just to check if they stay on when locked.

I’m not into this kind of stuff but I seem to remember one I had did the same thing ( another motor), was told to “power cycle “ in other words disconnect its power supply for a short while to re set

Refitted the engine cover. I left it off to check for any possible fuel or oil leaks following the major strip down but all seems fine so gave it a clean and put it back in place.

What are those holding the cover on mate, do they come in blue ?

They're just chrome pike nuts and anodised penny washers.

Like this Thinking of doing it on the carbon cover that I have bought when I put it on to dress it up a bit and have been looking on Aliexpress for options

Do you know the size of the studs off hand, look to be M10's to me, any idea if that is right.

Studs are M6, the pike nuts have an 11mm hex.

Just took a bit of a chance and won these at auction in Japan.

Listed as junk and got them for a really good price as passenger side dipped beam squid ring not working.

Hoping I can get them sorted out with new squid rings and will do both sides so they match.

Thinking to fit RGB squids with a phone app for a bit of a party effect:party::party:
