Followed the how to and changed my indicator and wiper stalks. Great write up, just incomprehensible why Nissan changed the pin numbering, nobody puts pin 1 in the middle of the bottom row. Just followed the coloured drawings after getting my head round that and everything worked first time. Next job will be resetting the indicator cancelling cam now the switches are working.

Nobody puts baby in a corner neither.. 🤔

I finally got round to getting rid of the yellow looking high beams compared to the nice whiter HIDs.

I know not strictly legal but I managed to get a set of HB3 6k LEDs into a series 1 (in the lower lamp below the bar) without removing the battery or removing the headlamp.

I had to loosen the battery tie down off as far as it would go and twist the battery as much as possible so I could just get my hand in after popping off the connector with a flat screwdriver.

Light in the reflector shows in the same place as the old halogen bulbs.

It was fiddly as hell but even with my meat paws I managed it.

`Looks loads better!
Will you come over and do mine! :p

A couple of photo's of the second hand Dad Garson over mats that I took a bit of chance on and bought from Japan now that they are fitted.

Are far better condition than they looked in the auction photos and really pleased with them for what they cost and look to be better quality than the ones on ebay and worked out quite a bit cheaper.

Have just gave a quick vacuum for now but will get round to giving a proper shampoo and clean over the next few days now that I know they all fit ok

Have got a set of 4 brand new matching step mats on order direct from Dad Garson which are currently being made which I have paid about 4 times the price for than the complete set of 10 second hand mats.

Have bought a pair of Dad emblems to bling them up and thinking of sticking one of them on the centre front mat and will possibly use the other one on the Dad dash table that I have bought that needs a bit of a tidy up

Need to cut the panels down slightly on the rear camper seats so that the rear mats slide under them although this does give me option of doing something a bit different :D :sun:

Over the weekend I have been debating what to do with my existing indicator lights on the front wings of my series 1 as with the new mirrors that I have bought having already got flowing indicators built in and already having flowing indicators above my front lights they are not really needed especially as they are flashing and not flowing and had thought of taking them them off and fitting side vent grill covers that I would have hydrodipped in carbon to match the mirrors and my front grills over the top of the hole that will be left to hide it but could not find anything that I liked or I felt they were were to big or too small for the space

I do have these that I bought some time ago but are not that certain whether I am that keen on them which is why I have not used them before.

Decided that the best option was to replace the indicators for flowing indicators as I feel that if I am going to keep indicators on the front side wings it would look better to have them flowing to match the rest but I could not find any that are made specifically for an Elgrand and most for other cars were either too deep around the rear edges being designed to fit into a recess or were too short or too long or not wide enough for the existing hole and although could possibly be modified to fit would create a lot of extra work to do.

Mine are currently the clear Rider indicators which I have sprayed in smoke lens paint with a silver bulb to hide the fried egg look but have never been that happy with them.

I did however manage to find these which I think the body is a pretty good match for the size and shape of the existing indicator and cut out and with I think a pretty good chance that the retaining lugs will grip in the existing cut out.

Height is bang on the same as the existing indicators and although they are tapered and narrow slightly at one end as they are also slightly longer by about 37mm this should not matter as they should be able to be moved along a bit so the narrower end is not over the cut out and still with the lugs being in the right place and will also give a bit of room on the back of them for some double sided tape if needed.

Also I think they are quite a bit more modern design than the existing ones.

They are for a Alfa 156 147 and Lancia Delta3 and cost only £3.93 and come in either smoked covers which is what I have bought or crystal.

Don't look as though they come with a gasket and dependent on whether I need to use any double sided tape or not might get a sheet of neoprene to cut some out but will see how it goes first as not sure whether they will need.

Whilst not at all certain whether I can get them to fit for the small cost thought it was worth taking a chance

Will update with how I get on as this could be a very cheap and simple mod for anyone with a S1 to upgrade there side wing indicators to a more modern look if wanted.

Interesting. I tried a few different Nissan and Honda ones but couldn't find one that would clip in without serious modification. I ended up getting a set of clear Nismo types with normal bulbs.

I will keep an eye out for an update

I did look at some others from Japan but although I think nicer than the standard decided against it as although they would be a straight swap they are more expensive and not flowing so kind of defeats the reason for changing unlike the ones I have bought although can get them either smoked or crystal and also with silvered bulbs

The ones I have bought from Aliexpress have now left China so should have them pretty soon.

Yes it is but it is handy if you have a old disc to put on back to front Makes it easier to hit.
Need the van for weekend, so ordered a kit from JDM (sorry Brian) and my garage said whilst they don't normally fit customer supplied items, I'm a frequent flyer with them for best part of 20 years, so I get a pass. JDM carparts assures me they provide quality kit, so hoping to have it back by weekend.

Oh dear! Noticed a leak coming from somewhere and spotted this! Looks to me like a transmission leak!
Is this a major job to fix as to me it looks like it's a leak from the bell housing to the engine! :sob:
Travelling to the UK next week so didn't really need this on top of my suspension issues!
