My Elgrand flew through it's MOT yesterday at well known and respected Elgrand importers Colin Price Motors with no advisories who remarked that the brakes are one of the best they have ever tested on a Elgrand which is testament to Geraint's work and the difference that the front brake upgrade makesAgain not done by me but by Geraint who has now cleaned my PCV valve and loctited my swirl flaps and fitted my Carbing strut brace and the van is booked in for it's MOT on Tuesday so hopefully am going up to collect on Thursday giving me time to clean it before going up to stay overnight in a hotel Friday afternoon ready for an early start on Saturday morning for the Castle Coombe meet.
The even better new's is that screws on number 2 and 5 cylinders were coming loose but had done no damagebut just goes to show how important it is to check these.
The even better better newsis that my air intake hose is starting to perish and is on it's way out so gives me an excuse to replace with a nice new Samco silicone hose in yellow.
And the even better better better newsGeraint has told me the bushes in my front wishbones need replacing which was something that I suspected would need doing fairly soon so gives me the opportunity to upgrade to Powerflex and as this has all come from Geraint no arguments from my wife.

Getting the nuts off the old drop links was extremely difficult, even with a long breaker bar, had to use my foot on them.
Also, don’t bin the old nuts, you may need to use a couple with thread lock. My new nuts wouldn’t fit.
It was the fronts mate, not done the rears.
might be worth getting some proper penetrating oil on them, not WD40.
I had to put so much pressure on I was scared of pushing car of axel stands, was nearly at angle grinder stage before they let go.
Mine didn’t even need changing, the bonking was fking golf balls hidden in engine bay.
