Yes Karl problem is that the garden centre has changed hands and is now owned by a multinational group who can't be arsed to answer a comunity question as it don't make them any cash. I am still waiting on an answer. Hope you do make it if the kids have never been drag racing it will be a fantastic day for them as well.

If it's owned by a big multinational group, sod them and just use it! Show them the same courtesy as they extend to you.

I am in agreement there but I dont know if its gated and they open at 10.30 on a sunday lazy sods

Ahh. Hmm. Is there a service station locally?

I have plenty of time to sort this I was looking for an out of town shopping centre as they have large car parks as well

Just casually mentioned Santa Pod to the wife.....I think I'm on board.

Bmr there use to be a massive Tesco store nearby always use to end up there in some ones car for breakfast the morning after always hepled me ease myself intos sundays racing quite nicely

Hi azbo, found the Tesco you are on about at Wellingborough post code is NN8 2EF. It looks safe as its in a retail park area and even if the Tesco isnt open at 9.00 there is plenty of places to park up on the site. Thanks for that info.

Update, I got a phone call this morning from a very nice lady who manages the Podington Garden centre. She has given us permission to use the garden centre carpark to group up and tells me that the gates are open at 8.45 for the staff to start. She has agreed to us using the carpark on the understanding that the garden centre cannot be held responsible for anything that could happen (standard disclaimer) and we have to vacate the carpark before 10.00 when the garden centre opens. As this site is only 5 mins from Santa Pod I have thanked her and agreed that we will form up there. So if everyones in agreement its 9.00am at Podington Garden Centre with an aim to move off at 9.30 for the 5 Min cruise to Santa Pod. Dont forget that if there are several trucks heading in from the same direction you can form up before you get to the garden centre.

Got room for a (very) Yellow 107 ?
It's long distance stuff for me, nearly half an hour.
Derek

Derek, doesn't matter what car you turn up in. It's being there and socialising that counts mate :thumbup:

I'll see you there then. Made a note in my diary. Not my social dairy, that's for posers.<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://forum.elgrandoc.uk/posting.php?mode=reply&f=13&t=609#">https://forum.elgrandoc.uk/posting.php? ... =13&t=609#</a><!-- m -->

Haha, social dairy... is that like School Milk? :laugh:

welcome derek we can use you as a diversion tactic and sneak in while the people in the pay booths are distracted by your yellow Peugeot. Do you think we will get away with it?

Looking forward to this in a couple of weeks.

Anyone else planning to go for the weekend / camping? I'm still hoping to go with my 8 year old boy if the weather is ok

Simon
