I was originally going to the 'pod', but now have other plans.
I can understand people being apprehensive about booking to go camping and meeting up with friends.
On that note has anyone read the terms for camping at the 'pod' now? (During covid)
They are saying you have to stay in groups of six and no joining up with another group of friends etc. They are having regular checks and if it happens the authorities could shut them down or fine people Elgrand trinket money.
Has anyone checked any up to date t & c's at Billing?
Just saying as a few places have let us down recently.
'Pod' terms have probably changed again by the time it took me to write this on my phone at work.
Stay safe everyone. 😁😁😁

The event is likely to still go ahead. We will all need to work together to mark our areas and we'll need keep the noise down between us to reduce our presence.

But that said, say a few families all camp at the same place and become friendly, what's to say they can't interact whilst on holiday as long as they remain in their own bubbles.

The new rules are rubbish. If its that bad, go back to how it was in march. Stay in unless you have to go out. No wishy washy bullshit.

We need to keep an eye on how things progress. I will admit that I've not booked out space yet, but we still have every intention of going.

We need a CONFIRMED list of those who definitely want to attend, and then between those people, we need to discuss how we are going to enforce social distancing between us to remain on the right side of the law.

The fine is £100 on first offence, and doubles for every repeat offence up to a max of £3200.

I can't see any of us getting fined as we're all sensible (rather, we can be). But we need a plan in place to be able to ensure we all remain safe and on the right side of the law, regardless of how much we agree with it.

I'm just not sure how we can set up the marquee for me to do my thing with generator running etc and still be seen to be social distancing

Max 3 in the tent at any one time. The rest outside. I know you love cooking, but we may have to take turns at the helm with guidance from you. And then in little social bubbles we can move around a little between groups to be able to socialise but keep movements to a minimum and socially distanced.

Technically it's an organised event...

"Outdoor events, that are organised by businesses, charitable organisations, and public bodies, may have more than 30 attendees provided (i) they have carried out a thorough risk assessment and (ii) taken all reasonable steps to mitigate the risk of viral transmission, taking into account that risk assessment, in line with COVID-19 Secure guidance. It is illegal for other outdoor events to have more than 30 people attending unless one of the exceptions set out in the relevant regulations applies."

Safest bet would be to contact a local authority.

We have MAX 20 families attending.

The new rules are groups of 6 between 2 households. So we set out 10 seating areas with 6x seats in each.

We ensure that within each area there are only up to 6 people from 2 families at any one time.

Each area will be well above social distancing measures but will still be within talking distance. If we cannot circle the areas, then the rotation would have to allow those at the two extremes (far left/far right) a chance to socialise with others.

The marquee will be available with communal cooking supplies. Hand sanitizer, wipes etc will all be provided to ensure the area is kept clean for each person to use.

Cliff can cook up the first batch, a mix of everything and we can serve on plates within the marquee. Any additional food after the initial batch will be self cooked.

We all bring out own supplies in terms of sauces, cutlery, drinks, glasses/cups and do NOT mix them up.

I can't see how we'd be breaking any laws with this in place. We can even have 5x groups one side of the marquee and 5x groups the other side.

Ways and means guys, ways and means. We just need to be sensible, and plan things properly. We will need a risk assessment in place to deal with any likely scenarios. What do we do if anyone starts to feel unwell over the weekend etc (ie, that person/family leave upon developing symptoms).

As long as each of the 10 areas marked out are socially distanced up to 1m between families and no resources are shared, then we cannot transfer to others in the group.

Anyone in the marquee who is not cooking (say to get food) wears a mask.

This might be helpful
Covid 19 events.
Maybe if we do a risk assessment and have it in place then we will be on the right side of the law and we could show we have looked into it and put measures in place.

This is how I would like the food situation to work, I had already planned to cook Friday evening, sat morning and evening, so I would like to do that and perhaps cook to order for each family/group then when everyone has had some of everything I will turn griddle off but still be more than happy to cook up some more for the late night eaters, I always as you know am very well organised and constantly sanatising everything and will have plenty of hot water and soap, this way I would be happy that the cooking and serving area is sterile and clean. If at any point somebody would prefer to cook any food they've bought themselves then I'd be happy to vacate the kitchen for a while

I was thinking more so that you had a break and a chance to socialise with others seeing as attendance in the marquee will be limited.

We can work on the details together, what I wrote was just an initial thought on how we can be compliant, but there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Well that way I get to socialise with everyone and my elder son Jake is coming with me to help, people can also tell us what sauces they would like etc so only myself and Jake would be handling them.
My plan was...
Friday evening burgers,hot dogs,chicken tikka,pulled pork.
Saturday morning breakfast baguettes etc.
Saturday afternoon fried chicken and fries.
Saturday evening more burgers, hot dogs pulled lamb wraps and kebabs etc.
Sunday morning breakfast if we have time

I will definitely be going to the meet although I still haven't booked yet.Bit dissapointed as it was my weekend off work, but I've got to change to a different shift pattern on 28th September.Fortunately, its only a short trip for me,so will come straight over after work on Sat and leave Sunday lunchtime to get back in time for late shift

Just been on phone with council local district and national aswell as the police there all happy for the go ahead as were doing is as a organised event and its on commercial property (billing aquadome) which is a lisend property the only thing the ask for is a risk assessment carried out highlighting problem areas and our action to prevent and the big one bo more than groups of 6 as if they get reports and have evidence they will fine and disperse and shut the weekend down which none of us want
