Just a thought. Likely too late anyway. How about 24 hour full access then 10 posts within or after that. Might get some questions answered they want and decide to join.

Not a bad idea but the implementation may be an issue with the forum software and staff resource...
 
I always think 30 days is a good timeline for browsing information for free (but not sure if that could work on your current platform), then if you are still keen to keep seeing new posts and want to get involved to ask questions and help others... you sign up for membership and at £12 a year, it's fantastic value. I've already made a £6 saving on a fog light switch I almost bought by finding a cheaper option in a thread I found yesterday

Plus, as someone who runs a web design & hosting company, it can become very expensive running a busy, high volume traffic site.

Im just fed up of reading crap and false claims made sometimes by folk who think they know it all when they don't so sometimes things have to be said and in plain lingo. However I accept your advice in good faith buddy and will seek a more diplomatic approach with advice and guidance from our Karl.

I saw a thread started by a female member asking a question how many other women were in. Simple question... it ended up with members asking to see photos of them and some pretty shitty childish innuendos. It’s a fine balance having a forum and a club that needs to attract people (not just blokes from 1954) and I wholly support Karl and you guys in that; I will no doubt end up paying to support this club when I finally buy one, I would just hope that I can get as much info as poss before I commit.

Totally agree there shouldn´t be any sly innuendos if a woman posts something on the Forum. Did ask a female poster once if she was a Kentish woman or woman of Kent. No harm intended, just signifies a person lives North or South of the river Medway. :rolleyes:

I don’t profess to know anything about anything, just merely giving my opinion. I’m a newbie and can at least offer that on this subject...

It wasn’t you frogey. And tbh there are only 2 people that I’ve seen posting pretty derogatory, sexist stuff here. Pretty childish stuff too, but I’m guessing very offensive and uncomfortable for women trying to get info in here.

Maybe you should try Face book. Apparently there is a far superior class of person on there. We'll just stick to what we have on here which is great banter and great owner community spirit.

Ok brendan, so clearly your bothered by me calling you out for your sexist comments. Kinda just hoping it would make you more aware, rather that you trying to attack me.

I’d rather stay here, although I do do both... it does seem this is a great hub/club with a lot of great helpful members. I’m not a huge fan of sexual innuendos/derogatory stuff and kinda try to politely highlight that, if that doesn’t work then I’ll just block the people or leave...

I’m not here to cause dramas, I just thought I’d give my opinion which you’ve disagreed with, but not said why.

No idea what your on about and I certainly aint bothered by anything your saying TBH as its currently not applicable to anything on this forum. I personally think you along with a few others are just over here from that den of inequity called Face book intent on causing trouble for the sake of it with absolutely no intention of contributing positively to this club/forum in any way other than to disrupt it. If banter is not your thing may I suggest you join the W.I:D
 
I am in complete agreement Karl and am willing to abide by any decisions made by the good people that run the sight.
 
I can't understand all the fuss, if people don't want to make posts then £1 a month is really good value for money. Not only is there technical information available but also a raft of owners with personal experience who are pleased to offer their advices.

A new Haynes manual is normally £22.99 discounted on their site to £16.99 and the modern ones are pants anyway.
