Driving up the A1 yesterday afternoon, glorious sunshine, not too busy, on my own so Meat Loaf was on loud enough to drown our engine and road noise. Just one problem the front blowers were blasting our warm air. Thoughts of possible AC problems were going through my mind, even though it was fine the day before. I turned on the rear AC which made no difference. I changed from fresh air to recycled air, again no difference. Made sure all temperatures were set to 18 Celsius, still blowing warm air - might have been a bit warmer. Changed back to fresh air, it was blowing cooler but still warm. It was at this point I noticed the light on the AC button was off, duff light or no coolant or stuffed compressor(s). Nothing to lose so give it a push, within seconds lovely cool air was flooding the inside.
Looks like I am the silly bugger who turned off the AC on one of the warmer days we have recently had!

Why do we all go to the worse case scenario in our minds before looking at the simple things first? I always do it but I must admit it's always a great relief when its something simple, glad its okay.

Forget Blackjacks, what about Bazooka Joe's bubblegum?
You could collect vouchers and convert them into exciting things like X-ray Specs that could see thru clothing (never tried them), or lethal penknives they'd send out to kids with zero parental supervision (did try one, OMG, it was a 3 inch blade Swiss Army Knife replica, and as sharp as a razor - great for playing 'chicken', for those who remember, and still wake up in a cold sweat at night to count their toes to make sure none are missing).

X-ray specs didn’t work it was a con , as for playing chicken , I nearly lost my big toe twice ( yes twice , I was stupid lol)
Thank god for health and safety and woke parenting these days I say ( NOT)

I don't know what stereo @dognero installed but the volume goes up to 11.
NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is cooler than Meat Loaf.Surely something Cooler than Meatloaf would have cured the problem

When your garage calls you to tell you the noise is from a wheel bearing that's gone.
Then they tell you it'll cost approx £500 parts and labour as the cheapest one they can find from their suppliers is 350 (excl VAT).
And the kicker, they don't fit customer supplied parts (they used to).
Luckily I've used them for years and convinced the gaffer to fit the one I sourced from JDM Car Parts today (£80).
They're only doing it as a one off though. They used to fit customer supplied parts but stopped due to too many arguments over work not covered by warranty and customers complaining after cheap parts fail.
Time to find a reliable garage that accepts customer supplied parts I guess.

When builders, or whatever tradesmen work in your street, why don't hardly any of them use a water attachment/dust suppressor when they use the 'sound of the summer'- the disk cutter? It's not hard to do; I've seen one once using one, and they are only about £20 or so for an attachment on the likes of screfix? Similar for the pump style one. That silica dust is horrendous, not just for cars, washing on the line etc, but if yu read up on it, it's terrible for everyone's health. It's again the law too not to use one. Environmental health etc. So why don't literally any of them use one?

Yes, that do suck. I'm surprised too, as if you've been going there a bit, and never caused any post fitting bother, I'm surprised they took that road with you, even though they made it the policy. Common sense etc. I go to a dealership for one car and even they let me do that as I've built up a relationship. Thing is, granted as it's an Elgrand it's a bit different sourcing parts, OEM or otherwise, but their reason for not doing it- arguments after rubbish parts is the main reason why I try to get my own OEM parts- I got fed up with (non dealer) garages fitting rubbish, cheap aftermarket parts themselves and using £5 a 1000L cheapo whatever oil! In fact, the reason why I actually go to main dealers, as the parts are OEM
