Yesterday my eldest daughter (31) did a 54km run around and in the area of Ladybower reservoir. Me and my youngest son went to see her running or to see her at the finish line, didn't know which we'd do when we set off. Plan was to find the end point Hope Valley Show Ground, use runner tracking (they all carry gps trackers) to see where she was up to, maybe have a bit of a look around the show ground and maybe meet her at a convenient for us checkpoint. Getting close to the show ground we noticed my son in law and grand kids walking beside the road, pulled over and asked what their plan was. They were walking back to their car to drive a few miles where they could park and then do a 'short walk' to a checkpoint, so we did the same tagging along with them. But it turned out the son in law's 'short walk' was a 10 mile round trip forced walk / run including some steep climbs including steps/path up the side of a tall dam lol, we were wearing the wrong clothes and shoes, had nothing to drink, were thirsty and hungry, I had no fags, no phone signal so the tracking app didn't work and we had to wait 3/4 of an hour for her getting to the check point after we got there. And we decided to walk further to meet my daughter before she even got to the checkpoint. What I expected would be a relaxing morning out with a bit of a walk around the show ground grabbing a bite to eat and a long wait ended up being anything but relaxing.. but we enjoyed the walk and scenery . Tiring enough doing the 10 mile walk/run these days, I don't fancy joining her for the 54km (33 miles) run but my youngest daughter (18) is doing a similar run with her next year and my eldest son (30) might do it too.

Fags! How come you are still able to smoke? I had to give up the baccy 20 years ago.

So what you’re saying Simon is that you parked up a wonderfully comfortable Elgrand, walked for twelvety miles, didn’t stop at the pub and didn’t have a fag behind your ear? I take back everything I’ve ever said about you, you’re a numpty!😂

I would try a timber supplier or fencing company, B&Q tend to charge way over the odds for most things and/or supply lower quality things than you could get for the same price elsewhere.

I could now think of myself as officially an old man, or think of myself as a still cool ex DJ lol.

Got a hearing aid worth £2700 for free on the NHS.

Until recently I had no idea hearing aids had progressed so much or were worth so much.

I had no idea my right ear was worse than the left, I thought they were both about the same. The audiologist said my right ear might be worse than the left because I mostly used my right ear for cuing tunes when I was DJing. I think maybe, but also I'm more likely to lay on my left side under vehicles while using my right arm with power tools so my right ear would be closer to the power tool.

That's less than the 10% allowance we get in UK to allow for Speedo error. Seems very harsh.

They are very harsh. Last one was for 92km/h in a 90! That's why we see so many cameras that have been set on fire.
