yes I live in Weymouth and I know not to do over 70 along that stretch of road There always speed traps everywhere but it's all right overnight You have to be a bit sneaky

10% tolerance? So fortunate.
Our traffic revenue gestapo allow only a 2kph tolerance. On Christmas and selected holidays, it is zero.
Going too slow? They have a package deal on offer for that too.

10% is arbitary - fortunately every vehicle I have driven over the last 40+ years seems to go at least 10% slower than indicated on the dash :)

Well hears a laugh. Down in Cornwall (yes again) and decided to go out to lands end. The A30 from Penzance to there is up down and very snake like, plus the added ever so nice bloody pot holes. Took it slow as we all know throwing an Elgrand round on roads like that warrants air sick bags. Well half way there we got one, blowing their horn trying to get in the tail gate etc. after a time hubby got feed up of this so we just stopped the car dead. I got out as it was a woman driving the other car. Asked what her problem was to wit she gave a load of verbal and told me to got faster. Well lads I know you guys can get upset but I was very less than a lady in response. She insulted my Ellie, wrong move. I suggested that she could over take, in the hep of sssss she was driving, and as her car had never seen a wash, let alone a vacuum this need doing and the way it looked perhaps a MOT would be good. Even the guy behind her was getting mad

Really got my backup the way some idiots do things like that we were been responsible as we did not know the road and that c#w was stupid

Ho well had a rant. Feel better now

I contacted the manufacturer of the pop top I removed from one (scrap) Elgrand and fitted on another (good) Elgrand to ask them if they would kindly let me have a copy of the fitting instructions, and to ask them how much they could supply me with a new pop top roof for in case I ever wanted to get involved with fitting them. They sent me a copy of the very undetailed fitting instructions and iIrc they said they could supply me with them for around £2150 if/when I proved/demonstrated that I could fit them properly and had premises / was set up to do it. They also said they doubted I'd be able to get good results moving the pop top from one Elgrand to another due to the canvas already being cut / glued to suit the exact measurements of the original install, if I didn't get exactly the same measurements it could easily cause problems because the canvas wouldn't line up properly. But I managed to fit it almost identically to the way it was fitted first time and got great results by being exacting with the measurements and positioning, used all the same screw holes through the canvas etc. It was a lot of work but arguably I had more to do than someone who was fitting a new pop top because I had to remove it then fit it. Arguable because on the one hand I had to be more exacting with the measurements and positioning, on the other hand being able to see the original holes / folds / etc it was like having a template and some parts like the side and end rails were already cut to length, opposed to not having a template and having to cut those parts to length if I was fitting a new one from scratch. Some parts of the fitting should have been a 2 man job really because the pop top needs putting on the roof and taking off a few times during fitting and it's too big/heavy/cumbersome for 1 man to move around. In practice I only had help from the missus at one point that was to lift it onto the roof once, but I've had a bad shoulder since around that time that I think was due to trying to lift it onto the roof by myself from the rear with arms outstretched to the sides lol.

Picture the face of a VW T5 owner who usually along with their mates think T5's are superior to Elgrands... after fitting the seats being told they were Elgrand seats and plenty of them are discarded when people convert Elgrands to campers.

WTF! DHL driver clearly doesn't know how to use my door bell!
Was doing a good deed helping my mum do her shopping and because of this we didn't get to see the notification of someone on the door step, but as he never pressed the button in but instead hovered his finger over the area it did not ring anyway!
Now my wife's medication is on its way back to the sender (Germany) :mad: :mad:

What started out with a couple of overnight accidents and a gradual change in toilet habits has led to a terminal diagnosis of a particularly aggressive cancer. Although the type has been identified it's location is not certain, his prostate is enlarged and has some growths in it and there's blood in his urine.
A CT scan could be done to pinpoint the location(s) but with an estimated cost of £2,500 to £3,800 and the lack of a cure won't be doing a scan, we have opted for the palliative care option.

The prognosis is weeks rather than months but it's unfortunately one of those how long is a length of string things.

The length of the string was decided this morning. Following a week of rapidly declining quality of life plus the maximum pain killer dose having visibly reduced effect we made the decision that today would be the day.
Oscar was euthanised at 15:30 today.
