My pooch is 14yo - he is deaf, blind and daft.

We are currently parked at Trearddur Bay, I think this will be his last visit.

I was warned when I took him on at 2 months old that when the time came it would do my head in, I thought nah, it’s just a dog….

But they were right.

I would have my throat slit again for another 10 years with him.

Ah well.

Oh dear...we too have an "Oscar"...

So sorry Colin , having been there with one of mine a few years back I can empathise, watched her go down hill then had to make a decision, wasn’t easy but was necessary

Always heartbreaking when they get to this stage.

Sorry to hear that, they do let you know when they have had enough but its very hard to let them go, just know you have given them the best life you can.

Thanks guys. Oscar will be 10 on September 22nd. He's the 6th of 7 canine units we've had since 1986, the parting certainly doesn't get easier.

We lost this boy last year in almost the same circumstances, I did have the CT, worst decision I’ve ever made, so @Magnu you've made the right call, still breaking my heart 18months later, you’ve just got to enjoy the beasts while you can, think of the good times x

Yeah , it’s silly season alright , the amount of roadkill I saw in such a relatively short distance was surprising
Last month it was the young deer that were playing chicken
Pheasants are another bird with a death wish, the shinier your car the bigger incentive to launch themselves at their own reflection. Cocks, literally.

Whilst travelling in stowage in my wife’s milk float, I found a perfect place for my phone.

Why hasn’t my Elgrand got these…WTF

The answer is simple Peter, anyone with any sense sits in the front of the Elgrand and the stowage can hold their phones but not use them, of course!

When I see a storm approaching - instinct tells me to seek shelter.

Some people don’t spot the obvious and deserve to be locked out of said shelter, don’t you just love central locking.

Oh how we laughed. 🙄

To be fair, I should have let the dog in, he knew to get in the car and he is blind but his mum had him on a short lead.

This last few weeks has been taken over by our oldest dog Oscar.
What started out with a couple of overnight accidents and a gradual change in toilet habits has led to a terminal diagnosis of a particularly aggressive cancer. Although the type has been identified it's location is not certain, his prostate is enlarged and has some growths in it and there's blood in his urine.
A CT scan could be done to pinpoint the location(s) but with an estimated cost of £2,500 to £3,800 and the lack of a cure won't be doing a scan, we have opted for the palliative care option.

The prognosis is weeks rather than months but it's unfortunately one of those how long is a length of string things.

Picture for cuteness.

Sorry to hear about Oscar. Im shortly off to France to collect a rescue dog from my sister. He is one reason I got my new (to me) Elgrand. I hope Oscar is dreaming of trips out in yours and lots of happy times.

Why the fuckity fuck are 10mm Elgrand bolts softer than a mr whippy Icecream?????? Just taken the heads off two of them with minimum force. Very pissed off ATM

Did you use a 'Snap Off' 1/2" breaker bar on them? 🤪

Which bolts were they?

I've seen quite a few snapped off that hold brackets etc in the engine bay but usually when it seems someone has tried to fit a too long bolt in a hole and tried tightening it too much to get it to clamp up when the end of the bolt hits the end of the hole. There are at least 4 different length M6 10mm hex bolts in the engine bay.
