WHAT THE FUCK???!!!!

We had a barber by us when I was a lad, had all the haircut photos on the wall. Didn't matter what you asked for you always came out with the same "short, back and slap". Go in for a Bowie cut you'd come out with a head suitable for National Service. You would protest, "I came in for a Bowie cut!". He would reply "Well if Bowie came in here that's what he would get". Classic...
My mate lives down under and to this day the local barber only does one cut and that short back and sides and put Brill cream on when finished

When a lot younger I went to the local barbers and asked for a "square neck" in fashion at the time, when he finished he showed me with the mirror as usual, I said that's not a square neck, he said no, its short back and sides, which is what your dad told me you were having when he came in last week!
When I was younger and the last time I went with mum for my haircut I was supposed to have my usual (around that year) cut with side parting etc (lol) but the barber / hairdresser got carried away and I ended up with a punk style (at the time) almost fully shaved very short haircut. I don't know whether he decided for himself that was the cut I was supposed to have or made a mistake which narrowed the options but I came out with the punk style hairdo. At dinner time I used to walk from school to my grandparents fish n chip shop, which meant walking on a long fairly lonely path through a field and over the 'iron bridge'. I used to pass an old lady on this dinner hour walk most days and she usually might say 'good day' or give me a smile, but when I approached with my skin-head style cut I could tell she was worried, she pretended to wave at people behind me even though I knew there was no-one behind me. I felt bad for her, it was like I was doing something wrong even though I wasn't, I hadn't even wanted the skin head cut and didn't opt for it lol. I wondered what I could do to help put her at ease but realised anything I did would only make her more anxious, if I'd looked behind me she might have interpreted that as me checking to see if the coast was clear etc, so I just tried to seem uninterested, have my head down most of the time and not make eye contact as we passed. I felt good for her after we'd passed and got some distance between us because I knew she'd be feeling better at that point.

I never went to a Barbers shop until I was working and could pay for it myself.

My brother and I would get a number 2 Buzz cut by my Mum, then we would watch whilst she did the same to the Dog.

This would happen on a Sunday evening then there was a fight between my brother and I - as to who had the bath water first, the dog always had 3rd used bath water. 😆

Then it was 15mins of the Antiques roadshow and bed…

Me too. I can remember using the potty, learning to walk feeling very top heavy and weighing up the practicing improves walking but increases risk of falling over aspect, I remember one particular walk/stumble and the darker sticky spot on the carpet it involved getting past when I couldm't turn while walking

Antiques Roadshow? That was the last Elgrand owners meet I attended 🤣

I rather like Felixstowe, it is a town of two halves. South of the pier chav grockles and arcades and North of the pier more respectable grockles and lovely public gardens.
We go north, unless we want chips.
