What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Got the bus ready for a few days away in the dales, put the roof box on as I'm going to try putting all the occasional use stuff, outside table, chairs etc in to free up space inside if it's raining (it's the Yorkshire dales so that's a definite yes), how does everyone else get stuff out of their roof boxes when camping, it's fine at home, I used the steps, but it is a little high even stood on the sliding door steps, any suggestions?
I use one of these Werner work platforms . It folds down neatly and doesn't take up too much room in the cabin. I use it to stand on so I can reach the centre line of the roof to clean it, and as a make shift table/seat. I don't have a roof box though.

Personally, I have a small trailer with a box on top of it for bedding, over the years of loading and unloading, carrying up stairs, it's getting to much, so put in trailer and leave till next time, plus the bus Handel's much better without all the crap, it's great just putting a bag in with clothes, then off we go

What have I done to my Elgrand today? Dropped a 10mm impact socket in the engine bay and spent 8hrs trying to recover it. Gave up, it’s gone, MIA. What is wrong with these 10mm sockets?!?

When to the garage to discuss what to do with the smashed up white Elgrand as I am currently trying to workout if I can get the engine removed and transplanted into the silver Elgrand!
The garage have gone far and beyond to try and help and find a solution and they have leven been kind enough to lend me their Renault Traffic!

I found a drive in my golf made a socket move to a reachable place with the under tray off. Maybe a quick hoon will dislodge it?

I’ve done few pulls on motorway. Went shopping(roads are fckin terrible here), bumps, also done few back/forth on the ramps under the car port. Took all undertrays, even rocked the car until I heard the fluids in battery/coolant reservoir 😂

I used inspecttion camera, mirror.

Prior to this dropped a washer and later a small spanner, all landed on the undertray.

I swear to God I heard that socket hitting that plastic undertray. Even checked the driveway like 5 times and space under the fence, just in case it rolled there.

😂😂😂

In that case best take a trip to Halfords for a new one, that way you know 100% you'll suddenly find it 😄

1787384897650.pngStar socket 10mm equivalent lost under Saab Bonnet doing CPS a while ago..... It wasn't there until I thrashed it home after 6 hours outside my sons, leaning over bonnet for CPS, which the internet said was an easy swap from above.........

Surely that'll put crazy stress on the latch. I need a set of 3 roof bars for my kayaks. I'll likely use small steps.

I've got a project on the go where I have bought 100's of new bolts with special heads that use a13mm socket and I'm going to change them all over. It will take a few days to do it but it will be worth it, no more will I lose those pesky 10mms.
I haven't actually started the project yet because I dropped my last remaining 10mm socket in the engine bay and I can't find it.

Went to park run but for the first time in 2 years was unable to park as there must be an unprecedented amount of runners today. Already the 2nd largest in the world so don't want it any busier. This made me angry so for the first time I literally drove it like I stole it. Quick ain't they 😄
Now shopping instead of running 😡

I have discovered that 10mm sockets are disposable items. They shouls sell them in packs of 10, I lose so many.
