What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Drove my Elgrand in the pouring rain today so for the first time in months needed the wipers on. Happy to say they still work. Typical that I currently have no ABS or 4WD due to the missing wheel sensor so made sure to keep a good distance from the vehicles ahead.

So you may skid in the rain , but at least you will see anything you hit ?

Nowt, been driving the golf this week until I get the surround fitted as I ain't driving it with fixing holes exposed in the rain. I'm missing driving it though, yea the golfs quick as fook but it's lacking something. Another 3 seats and a throaty V6 😎👍

Worth the 5 year wait then buddy!
Missing mine terribly, currently using a Sinclair C5 with a converted Lithium Ion battery with a 40km range!

At least you know about it! Most "drivers" now would be lost without all the safety/parking aids, we have gone too far in my opinion and it just makes people complacent and allow the machinery they should be in charge of take over. AI for cars!

It's been the same for ever, taught to pass a test not taught how to drive. Once passed most drivers will never consider further training. As the old saying goes, the best safety aid is a spike in the middle of the steering wheel.

This was yesterdays work. The o/s wasn't as bad just needed a small inner lip repair then a small outer.
Hopefully I make it in time to get the body shop to paint it before my mates wedding which it's needed for moving people about 😂😂.

We've got some cars in work with "lane assist", PITA. In my opinion, if it kicks in on icy roads, there is an accident waiting to happen that shouldn't have...

Pumping the brake pedal whilst applying a "dab of oppo", gone are the days. The day I picked up the Elgrand was a joy, tyres where a bit past their best and I'd been driving FWD for years. Giving it too much beans on the straight and fish-tailing for the first time in years was fun and scary at the same time. After getting the back end out over two roundabouts taught me to get new tyres and learnt to treat the beast with some respect.

Thankfully we can turn it off in our fleet of Actros.
Yesterday I did the driverside wheel arch as they are rotten. And today I made a start on the worse side the n/s. This has took some of the rear door jam out and inner arch. Managed to get new inner arch on today and start making some tape templates for my next pieces..

Puts my tiny bit on the tail gate into perspective

That's true on mine. It's had a plug in mile converter chip so it averages (on the display) around 5km/L but that's actually 5 miles per litre, so whilst bad, not as bad as it looks.

That's even on a run though. Came back from Dorset yesterday and that was my average, but with quite a lot of traffic.
5m/l is nearly 23mpg, bloody eco-Elgrand!
