What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Today I couldn't have been more excited when a package turned up from an esteemed EOC member from the Shire of York. Yes, after months of grinding him down @Highway Dave finally relented and sent me his chrome rear view mirror cover, and not only that, a spare series 1 MAF sensor!

Top bloke as this was a free donation to the LeStempy chrome collection. It's now fitted and glinting away in the lightning strikes.
Never liked it anyway , kept falling off ( you’ll need some double sided mate , or it could have been my mirror to screen bit is missing)

Finally managed to get a bit of time and replaced the front speakers. Added a bit of butyl sound mat to the inner door panel.

Working up the courage to do the rears now.

Then tomorrow it is off to Arlesford service point for oil change, brake fluid, belts and tensioners and fit some upgraded springs.

Now the weather is picking up, I have front and rear fog lights to fit.

I also found these stops for cupboard doors useful for the front doors.

The doors shut will a satisfying clunk now.

Got to have love for the chrome mate

I was fixing the yellowing of a friend's Nissan Cube with some T Cut headlight restorer when I decided to spend a few minutes on Nisa. I do have the Cerakote but the weather was not great and this was better than nothing.

Made myself some thermal window blinds. Was too tight to spend £130 on an eBay set so bought a roll of radiator reflector for about a tenner on Amazon and a pack of screw together suction feet for about the same (not shown in this photo). Should do the trick when camping later this month for the Masters Historic Festival at Brands.
That is a really good fit, better fit than mine that came with a camper conversion.

New boot seal. Current one is quite battered

Today I just sat in the sun on my drive with a beer and looked at it, paying special attention to the recently added chrome.

A thing of beauty!
Reminds me I must re-polish my lower grill, its looking very sorry for itself! lol

Can leaving your car unlocked with the key inside drain the battery? If you're an idiot and don't notice for a couple of days...?

I think it can as the communication between key and car is not allowed to shut down properly thus using power continuously
I think it’s avoided if the car has been started etc ( needs someone with more brains than me to confirm)

I leave mine unlocked for days but without the key inside, never had a battery drain, but if the key is detected it may prevent it going into sleep mode.

Thanks. Seemed reluctant to turn over this morning. Fingers crossed it will be ok after a charge.
