She's back! After driving a 1.5 DCI Qashqai and a 1.2 Spacetourer for two weeks, this feels so rapid now. I've missed the old girl. The colour match is a bit off but, looks like the old one did.

Great news buddy! Colour match looks pretty good to me.
The plastic parts always look slightly different in colour!
Edit: just saw your plate shame the A isn't a U! lol
 
Trial fitting of my DIY rear seat bolt covers, will double up as pull handles in and out of boot etc. Scrapped the cedar idea, sapele much closer colour to dashboard plastic. A little fettling to do and 2 or 3 coats of oil to seal/finish20240403_161428.jpg20240403_161436.jpg20240403_161644.jpg

😁It had a private plate but when I saw this, I wanted it back to standard reg. FAK! is what I say when I have to fill it up 😅.

I won't lie, I scrolled down quickly and had to have a double take on these pics. My brain honestly thought you had a frankfurter on rails for a second 😅
 
Hello.

I've posted a question but it's not showing.

In a nutshell can you use the positive & negative from the heated seat button light to power up a USB socket that I can fit to the back of the front seats?

If so, how do you access them?

I would use a volt meter to assess which pin is the 12v, connect that to the positive of the socket and ground the negative side of the socket.

Just having a spot of tiffin whilst awaiting any replies...that will be the next job.

I'm assuming the 12v will be switched as the heated seats only come on with the key in a particular position.

Although, on the drivers the seat will adjust without the ignition on, but I don't want to tap off that in case they leave their phones charging and flatten the battery.

Might be worth seeing if you can get one with USB-C as well, that's the port mobile phones will use going forward and having one available future proofs you.

The 12v wire is yellow with grey banding.

I'll tap of that and ground it to the seat frame.

Fresh mot gained, no advisories. First time doing a mot with me having done diy pads and discs all round so was satisfied to see it get through.

I have noticed a slow down with my side door electric opening/ closing - i think i start with looking for worn wiring?

I have spotted that the plastic covers for my front suspension springs have split - is that a diy task? Unbolt and slide knew ones on? I have not looked for any info yet tbh.

After seeing Blaggards sausage I decided to copy him as I need two tie downs for my mountain bike, I was using tie downs on my Harlequin dance floor but it’s not right for the job.

Same thing except I used an aluminium pipe, I think it was a washing line at one point and a couple of M6 eyelets.

Covered it in Kevlar wrap ( I used too much heat and it blistered 😆 ) and job is done.
