So I found some stuff on Amazon that I was going to buy, the left and right armrest fillings are identical left or right, the 3 different seats have different shapes and therefore covers that they use. As long as you have 1 from the same row then you can template that and cut a new one out.

 
Trip to the Isle of Wight for a Northstar Conversion complete. I'm just really happy with the result... Big shout out to James and Carol for being incredibly helpful, listening to our needs, being patient while we changed our minds 15 times about the colour scheme… and delivering the bespoke conversion in just four days. North Star loaned us a car, booked the return ferry tickets, and were a delight to work with throughout.

Front passenger seat swivels, middle seats removed, half-sized side kitchen unit with gas burners + sink (complementing existing pop-top roof), and cushioned platform to extend rear seats into a bed when required - supported on ingeniously designed brackets + box for portapotti. Full 12v and 24v electrics and 100W solar panel, to support leisure battery running compressor fridge (which works incredibly well in this hot weather!). New vinyl floor, and enough room at the back for my wife’s mobility scooter.
The large cushion sits behind the rear seats whilst driving - and works perfectly alongside my mirror-dashcam, which ensures visibility to the rear is unaffected.

What a week to choose a mad adventure, a 500 mile round trip in 30+ degrees heat!

Despite switching in LED ages ago, first time driving at night with no street lighting.

Imagine going back to standard bulbs, Eww LOL

Well.. I have looked at it as not going out in it this weekend. I don't want it to feel unloved! Created a wishlist.... replace passenger mirror( glued on atm) , get wheels reconditioned, get front bumper resprayed, sort rear side windows, source runner part for rear electric curtain, source a 'cheap ' minidisc to ascertain if unit works. Atm like to keep everything original but don't know how long that will last! As long as the CD player keeps going i am fine.... but still trying to work out what speakers I have as had full camper conversation.
Ohh... get the LPG checked over..... gauge seems very inaccurate although I am told this is common with spare wheel tanks as they are very shallow.
 
It wasn't today. But over the last couple of times I was able to work on the E52, I was able to fit an aftermarket cruise control module and steering wheel controls and get it working. The calibration was pretty easy, although it is set at about 7-8% above what the speedo shows. Really happy with the look and feel of the buttons and the digital speed display that comes with the kit looks nice in the little corner window of the A-pillar.
Half the steering wheel controls solved. The next was to get the audio controls to work with the android head unit - which the import dealer installed when we purchased the car - which was obviously the cheapest and least functional device they could find, which I didn't like.
So it was upgraded with a larger screen, more powerful more functional unit and at the same time, I went about getting the steering wheel controls to communicate to the head unit.
I replaced the clock spring, added extra pins to the connector carrying the audio control signals, ran the three wires to the head unit, and with much proding and probing, was finally able to get the signals to pass through and use the android button learner to program them.
Very pleased to get a fully functional steering wheel control set, but unfortunately, and the reason I'm here, since going through that exercise, the genuine remote start has stopped working! So I'm looking to learn how to fix it.
Need some points!!

One side done...JDM callipers arrived today, along with some slider pins from eBay. Brembo pads from ECP. new slider pins head was just too big to go behind sway bar thing on the lower location, but old ones in good nick so cleaned and reused with rubbers from new kit. Visual check of other 3 wheels shows fronts are good, and other rear is low but not as bad, suspect calliper piston was sticky, noted rubber was perishing around it, so fingers crossed the battlebus will be back in action soon...

What pads are available from ECP? Is there a different model that's the same?
 
Continued with the rear battery box and power station, it's like trying to fit a quart in a pint pot! Only so much room and too much gear to fit in, I've moved stuff around again cos i get it fitted and then try the box in the bus and it fouls on the plastic sides, but finally getting there - I think!
 
Nothing very exciting, fitted the other JBL front door speaker so they match left and right now. Something I noted when testing for plus and minus is the original connector plug isn't a straight feed to the speaker, the connection crosses over in the original Clarion speaker frame so the left pin on the plug goes to the right hand wire on the speaker cone and vice versa, kind of odd but not a problem if you are aware.
