What have you done to your Elgrand today?

The thing that confuses me is that this seems to be some sort of control box for the indicators and they function (AFAIK) the same as they would do if the box wasn't installed. They flash when I arm and disarm the alarm, they flash when the hazards are on or when I activate the turn signals. But aside from that they don't do anything unusual - they aren't on solid amber when the car is on like they would be in America, for example. So what's the box actually doing? But if it is connected into the indicator circuit and I try to unplug it, will my indicators stop working???

The use of scotchloks where your foot might dislodge them (or catch the cable and cause the scothlok blade to cut through the wire) also gives me the fear... I might just have to unplug those boxes, check if anything noticeable happens, and if not, try to neaten up that wire heap a bit and zip-tie it where it's not going to get caught on my clown feet...

The amazon description (which amusingly has several different misspellings of Elgrand) says the following word pasta:
"- The S608completeII model coupler set makes it easier to install the door mirror turn signal position and front turn signals easier than before. The control system allows the car turn signals to be positioned, except some vehicles (E51 Elland) and uses the rear canceller (S608C2-ALA) (sold separately) to turn off the rear window indicator position and transform the front and door mirror. It can also be used as an all-turn signal position if you want to position all of your vehicles (if you use it as a show model), without the rear canceller. (Except E51 Elgland) Enjoy your door mirror turn signal position without looking for the wiring of your door mirror like ever before.
■【S608C2-00R】... The main unit and harness set S608C2-00R is a type of coupler connection between the turn signal relay and becomes a connection to your car. Only one piece will be wired to the illumination wire. [Except for S608C2-###, 00R] Main unit and harness set... It is a type that connects to the left and right couplers of the front turn signal. Depending on the model number, only one piece will be connected to the + line of the position lamp. This position lamp connection also uses an optional DCW harness for coupler connections. [S608C2-ALA] Rear turn signal position canceller: Find + line from the wiring behind the left and right rear turn signal valve, then cut the + line.
■【No.1 dip switch】 Mode switch ... Hold mode when the turn signal is turned up... A mode that maintains the turn signal position even when the turn signal is operated. Turn it down to Delight Mode: When the turn signal is activated, the turn signal position will be off. (No.2 dip switch) ON-OFF switch: Turn signal position function on when turned upward. Turn signal position function off when turned down Light Adjustment Dial: A dial that adjusts the brightness when the turn signal position. It will be brighter and darker counterclockwise."

Don't Elgrands have door mirror indicators as standard?

That particular unit should be connected between your original harness using correct plugs so in theory should disconnect and reconnect your original plugs, the scotch locks may be for the other unit “ in theory”.
You just never know , depends on who wired it.
It should do other things such as indicator speed controll and enable you to just tap the stalk instead of fully clicking it and the indicator will flash a set amount of times etc

Fitted wipers. The aero/ frameless wipers that worked fine and are not very old suddenly stopped wiping where my eyes line up to. Put framed ones on, perfect wiping again. I have seen mention of bending arms. Arms seemed fine, spring seemed fine, old blade looks fine. No idea what the cause was!16016.jpg

Opened and closed my rear Windows. Oh the joy of it.
Me too yesterday! Thanks for your post, mine have always worked until one wouldn't open a few months ago, I assumed seized / given up from underuse but you reminded me and I was delighted they both opened and closed as smoothly as ever.
