What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Yeehaw! She's runnin' on corn oil.

First big test run today, first to the jet wash then to the fuel station for some E85. There was still a third of a tank of 98RON in there so I topped up with E85 and as such, according to the app, I now have a tankful of E49, i.e. 49% bioethanol. Didn't really know what to expect but away we went just as normal and running as well, if not better than ever.

46 litres went in at a cost of 26.51€ or £23.10 in English.
Not corn oil but corn alcohol. Your Elgrand now has an even bigger drink problem. Americans have a spirit called ever clear. I believe it works better as fuel than a drink lol.

I refer to it as moonshine from now on.

My new front end with Bahn Brechen 3 piece spoiler fitted now in my body colour of KH3, on my original bonnet as I decided against fitting the carbon bonnet that I have so have taken the bonnet spoiler off this to fit to my existing bonnet.

Also eybrows fitted also in KH3 which is how I bought them but may be changing to hydrodipped carbon to match my grill

Also new fogs fitted with DLR's in yellow.

No lights on

Yellow Halo DLR's in Fog Lights on plus white DLR's above lights which are also flowing indicators.

Still got a few more changes planned for the front end but will have to wait now till next year for the warmer weather as I want to concentrate on the interior over the winter .

All done by Gereint (Elementian) plus lots of other upgrades which I will put on when I have time.

A word of caution to anyone who is thinking of fitting one of the bonnet stone protectors from ebay Geraint took the one off that was fitted to my Elgrand and it has damaged my bonnet quite badly.

Just spent a bit of time cutting and polishing it back but still quite noticable as it has rubbed the paint completely off in places

Not the end of the world as sometime or another my front bumper could do with a respray and I will now need to get the bonnet done at the same time but would have been better off saving the money that it cost and just accepting the odd stone chip although it migh be a good excuse to maybe fit a bonnet scoop

When I first bought it a couple of years ago I held off fitting it for quite a few months as I was not that keen on the looks but finally fitted it after I picked up a small stone chip thinking that I could live with the looks if it saved damage to my bonnet but the opposite has been true.

A couple of pics of the damage.

I agree with you and the others Kev, carbon wrap on the eyebrows will improve it but Wow! It looks flipping amazing. How about a carbon wrap to cover those scratches?

Plans are in hand Phil :D but may have to wait awhile as I want to get the inside a bit more sorted first.:party:

Just received a parcel and can only say “WOW” , I knew these were coming into the uk a while back so put my name on either these or another set that Chris had ( whichever he didn’t keep), so glad he didn’t keep these they are absolutely mint and already in the best colour.
So THANKYOU @ChrisWills

I now need desperately to start putting on stuff I have waiting

There won't be much of your original Elgrand left soon.
She’s still there mate , just with an ever changing dress code.
The feeling I got when I first drove her is still there too , maybe even improved lol

They are getting rare mate.
If you remember , I made some of my own once, fitted them , one got cracked so decided to put old back on until I could repair———— unfortunately someone ran over them on my drive, not saying who but been looking since

Took my Elgrand out for a proper drive for the first time today since I got it back from Geraint last week without my wife being with me since having the Nismo arbs

And the this Cusco rear underbody brace fitted

Now got a total of 6 underbody braces and a strut brace fitted.

Also fitted on the Nismo arbs are new polyflex purple D bushes to replace the rubber bushes that were on my standard arbs

Pushed it a little bit on the bends and it feels very solid and planted with very little body roll and I think that these changes have improved the handling quite a bit over what it was like before even with the coilovers and braces fitted.

Gives a nice firm but still comfortable ride and whilst it is never going to stay with some of the hot hatches in the bends is now night and day different and a far more enjoyable drive for my preferences to how it was when I first bought it with its rather tired standard suspension components.

Played about a little bit with the damping settings on my coilovers but ended up not changing them from the current settings as these were pretty much spot on to how I like it.

I think I am about there now with my suspension set up so will be arranging for Lee at FCM wheel alignment in Bristol to set up the tracking which although it does not seem too bad at present I am certain he can improve it for me.

For anybody who is close to Bristol and wants there Elgrand tracked forget Kwikfit, I have used Lee several times over the years on my other cars and he knows his stuff especially if you have made any modifications as he will set up for you how you prefer it not what a computer tells him and does a lot of work on track cars etc.
