What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Pressed hubs into new bearings. Sorted new inner CV boots, after a trip to Bunnings to buy the stupid tool to fasten the different clamps my old CV boot clamp tool doesn’t work on…

Will stitch the front all back together with new brake pads in the weekend if the rain can hold off for half a day or so. Basically finished with the underneath then.

I’m glad I have the basic skills to fudge my way through this stuff courtesy of my misspent youth and I can save myself a bit of coin, but I’m glad I don’t have to do it everyday for a job. Maybe having a hoist would make it more fun.

Things were a whole lot simpler when we just had Escorts, Cortina’s and Morris Minors to keep running. Or in my case air cooled Volkswagens where it was a jack, 4 bolts, a fuel line, throttle cable and maybe a push on electrical connector and the whole engine was out in 10-15mins by myself.
Hallelujah to the simpler days, I understand that

I've ordered four new tyres for my Ellie and four for my daughter's van after a lovely person popped all eight tyres at 3am on Monday.
I've got it on CCTV. He casually walked across the road, popped eight tyres and walked back the way he came so we are convinced we were targeted for some reason.
£1,000's worth down the drain.
The cars can't be driven so they will have to be taken away on a flatback.
A couple of weeks ago there was a crash outside my house and the driver said that her vision was impaired because of where my Ellie was parked so I think there's a link there.

What the f**k has happened to humans, so sorry to hear this George!!

The link is strong - collate all your evidence, times, accident, things said, CCTv footage and present it to the Police.

Don’t be fobbed off - ask for a Crime Reference number.

They will know the address of the cars involved in the accident, so they will visit.

Absolute shithouse trick akin to scratching or paint stripping a car, the coward thinks he can get away with it without confronting anyone.

That's absolutely awful. As peter says, get all the evidence together and give it to the Police if you haven't already. I think you are right it does appear you were targeted if nothing happened to any other cars, so keep a watch incase he comes back.

I've involved Plod but I won't hold my breath.
Do I get another set of Continentals at £600 or will they be back?
My insurance excess is £300 and it would affect my no claims so I might as well just get some tyres that will do the job but not cost the earth.
I can't park anywhere else because other residents park outside their own houses.
RAC were useless. I asked if they would transport my Ellie to where I usually get my tyres from but they said it happened less than a mile from home so isn't covered. I think it is, and I'll be chasing them about it, but I need to be on the road again asap because my wife has two medical appointments tomorrow and my son has had to take a day off work to cover this.
My wife and I are 79 and I have heart failure and mobility issues and she has Dementia and mobility issues so we need the car to be nearby.
The stress doesn't do her a lot of good either.

Reading this makes my blood boil! If I was close by George I'd give you my 16" wheels and tyres just so you could get mobile again!
Any members on here with a spare set of wheels they could lend George? Sorry to hear about yourself and your wife's issues.

Some scum out there

What do these people hope to gain from their pathetic petty revenge attack? Totally pointless thuggery.
They don’t gain anything, it’s just a sign of our times that they know they can get away with it

Thank you for the kind thoughts and the offers of help everyone. 👍I found a local tyre company who will collect one of the cars tonight and the other tomorrow.
They could do them at the roadside but it's a main road so it would be better to uplift them.
I rang another company and they wanted £65 + VAT to collect my Ellie and take it about a mile and a half to where I get my tyres from.

Managed to get the grill fitted properly, lights all working how they should ( just used a rubber trim under the headlights and grill for now. But did make lower brows to the headlights ( will try those later)
Oh and got rid of a shit load of algae on roof and in almost every crevice, gave her a good wash ( with pressure washer and NO incident's) lol

I hope they collected the first car from you last night, and that you now how something to use for the hospital appointments. I wish you and your wife all the best, and hope you have heard the last from the mindless person who did this to you.
