What do you have on your TV AUX

I originally looked at something similar however my biggest drawback was I'd lose the DVD function for the kids what I ended up finding was this 2024 CARPURIDE 9.3 Inch Carplay Screen for Car, Compatible with Wireless/Wired Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link - Bluetooth Audio, Navigation,Siri, FM, AUX, C92 with Backup Cam https://amzn.asia/d/bfB2prw.

I don't have a rear screen so never really use the DVD function anyway - however, this would just be feeding into the Aux leads so unless I'm missing something I don't think it would stop you from playing DVDs? It's no different from having the old DTV tuner that used to be plugged into those leads.

My main concern is whether it would look decent given the resolution on the Elgrand screen (assuming it works at all). If it was at the £100 or below level I would probably just give it a shot, but it's quite a lot of money if it doesn't do the job! I might message them and ask if they have any experience of using these with the Elgrand.

Have now added to my setup with a small Bluetooth 6 button and knob keyboard from Ali Express, which fits with very little adjustment into the coin tray in the centre console cup holder pop out. It even closes out of view.

Am planning to plug in usb to keep it charged, however battery last ages and it’s easy to pop out the tray when you need to charge it.

The Mini keyboard auto connects to the Raspberry Pi and the keys can be programmed to do whatever commends you want in order to navigate Kodi with ease.
Its been a while since posting this and finally got round to taking a picture of the 6 Button mini keyboard.
just so you know it works really well, battery lasts a very long time and bluetooth kicks in quickly on the RPi5
I have programmed the buttions to easily navigate on the screen, works well very intuative.
The bulb had gone in the ash tray so i replaced wil a blue T5 LED 12v
I Thing it looks great AND the drinks holder/Ash tray still closes easily to hide the buttons.

Putting this keypad in the ash tray was very easy even for a non DIYer like myself! (im an IT guy!)

im planning to now connect up the keypad to a USB charge cable (not really necessary though), you do however get LED button presses with power attached which you can then adjust thte colours and patterns it can do, which looks cool.

Nothing, need someone to work on my whole entertainment system in the e50, or access the guides on here!!?

Panning on fitting a Firestick/Chromecast and also a freeview tuner, for now i have a NES console (new one that is preloaded with games etc)
has anyone utilised the 100v output with some kind of converter? if so what have you used it for?

100v outlet is designed to power a laptop charger so should be fine for small game consoles. It's rated at 100Watts.

You have swapped out to a HDMI haven't you? What was the reasoning for that? What does that feed into?

Just get a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 runs off 5v
Install Batocera on the 64gb micro SD
You then have a games console that plays Nes,Snes,ps1, arcade and many others
Get an old ps3 game pad and connect that via bluetooth to control the games
Batocera also has a media player (kodi) which takes over as the music system
Purchase an Ali Express micro bluetooth keypad which can be set to control the media player
You will need a hdmi to ntsc convertor as well

The above takes over as the main head unit and works well

I have an HDMI switch fitted which feeds the HDMI to RCA converter so have the option of 3 HDMI inputs, the socket being one of them.

That was my plan to fit a HDMI switch (3 inputs to the RCA)

I also replaced the 100v inverter for a 230v one with a French socket.
Simple enough to do? Any particular brand of inverter better suited in your opinion?

I need to get some time to look at our screen. It doesn't drop down so I'm not sure if it will work. Also we don't have phono connectors in the panel below the driver seat so something may have been removed by a previous owner?

The phono panel is on the side panel just behind the middle row of seats drivers side.

Mine also doesn't come down or once in a blue moon.
It is tiny and low resolution so I'm looking at replacing it with something modern that had a built-in video player or a complete android unit with access to apps for media inc. streaming.
There are Xtrons units for reasonable prices and the quality is above average for these mass produced Chinese units.

I have a ZTE MU5001 5G mifi box for it to use for internet access.
