All the best mate

Thanks for the thought but between the potholes, speed bumps and utility workmen who can't refill their trenches flat with the original surface we don't stand a chance in the UK.

Happy holidays to you and your family! Must be chilly in siberia at the moment.
We are just coming to summer in nz.
Santa hats and bikinis :) not the same as white Christmas season at all.
Awesome thread. Iv got a qq60 td42t, and couple of qd31eti. They dont build them like this anymore so im hoarding them.
Keep up the good work

Happy New Year when it comes to you and yours :)

Ho-ho-ho, frosty greetings
From 31.12 to 12.01 there were New Year's holidays.
I tested a new barbecue (the barbecue project is still in progress, the main thing is that the base and firebox are laid out, this year I will finish the barbecue area and the campfire area)
We went skiing.
Grandfather Frost (Santa Claus for you) gave me an electronic drum kit, now we're playing rock.
Throughout the holidays, the tractor did not fail.

The real Siberian winter has arrived today. - 46.
In the morning, I started the car in the garage - it worked for 20 minutes. To move around the city in a dense stream in such a cold, I turn off the 4th gear (overdrive), this allows me to keep the engine within 1000 - 1500 rpm, at such speeds the heaters are blowing hot. In a traffic jam and when driving in traffic jams, I either turn on the 1st gear, or turn on the winter mode (winter) and switch to the 2nd gear, thus moving within 100 - 1500 rpm at the speed of flow. In general, the Winter mode is always on while it is winter and icy.
A couple of golden rules of a diesel driver in the cold:
1. I ask myself the question, why did you buy a diesel engine?
2. I answer that diesel is the fuel of the Gods, and the entire modern civilization was built and is being built thanks to diesel.
3. Before starting the engine, I warm up the glow plugs 3 times (I wait until the glow switch turns off, although the spiral goes out after a couple of seconds, but the relay works for 15 seconds)
4. There should be at least half of the fuel in the tank.

Do you heat the diesel and filters, or use any additives etc in the diesel? Ever need to use ether to help it start?

No need for a freezer with those temperatures outside, could keep frozen food for the barbeque just in a box?

Years ago I went sea fishing with my dad, we caught too many fish to keep in the freezer but it was snowy and freezing outside so we put the fish in plastic bags and left them outside buried in snow. Didn't quite work as well as we hoped, our garden became very popular with seagulls lol.

No need for a freezer with those temperatures outside, could keep frozen food for the barbeque just in a box? - Once upon a time, in the 90s, when food was really tight, my parents would buy a piece of a cow. We would cut up the meat and put it in bags and 200-liter barrels. We'd cover the barrels with snow. But keep in mind that our winters are cold. We'd take the bags out as needed.Life is different now—I have a separate, large freezer.
I wouldn't risk storing food in the snow—rats, eagles, and other predators are a threat.

Is this the end?
I started the tractor this evening. The RPMs skyrocketed. I turned the ignition off, but the tractor kept revving. I quickly realized the engine was running wild. I took the sleeve of my down jacket and wrote on the air duct. The engine gradually slowed and stalled. There's a lot of oil in the intake tract, the turbo... I'll start looking into it tomorrow.

He's alive!!
Hi.Today I started figuring things out. I removed the choke assembly from the intake manifold. I removed the air lines from the turbo. I added 2.5 liters of oil (the engine consumed 2.5 liters of oil in 1 minute at high RPMs). With a capacity of almost 7 liters, I believe the engine wasn't starved of oil. I removed the glow plugs (the plugs on cylinders 2 and 3 were burned out).
I poured diesel fuel into the glow plug area, waited, and started cranking the engine (with the fuel supply turned off).
I repeated this procedure for about 20 minutes to clear the cylinders of oil.
I checked the compression: cylinder 1 - 30, 2 - 32, 3 - 30, 4 - 31. Excellent result.
The engine turns over easily, without any unnecessary noise.I took glow plugs from the spares and screwed them in. I started the engine without air flow from the turbo. Started up fine. RPMs held steady.
A geyser of oil was coming out of the turbo hose.
I'm concluding that the turbo and glow plugs need replacing.
It was a minor scare.
A small video bonus

I’ve used a turbo refurb kit on a Delica 4M40 Td4 it lasted for 80,000 miles.
Much cheapness too.

If I did it again I would buy the cartridge- less faff.
