There might be hope after all when I come to sell my Elgrand in The Netherlands...

Missed you guys, so nice to have a few laughs on here, the next few weeks are going to be very stressful here so thanks for making me laugh!
You know me mate , I have to laugh.
Good luck with it all Richard

Found some pics of yours @IamWill.
Not sure why the dutch plates are stuck over that looks like UK plates! lol

Cheers. Saw those pics but never noticed the plates under it 😅 Rear does look like UK and the front Japanese or something. I guess it was at a Japanese car meet. Just before the vinyl wrap it has on the bottom now.

There’s one or two of your white one on Facebook too by the way. Not sure if you’re on fb or else I can post them.

Not on Facebook bud, if you can PM them to me or send me the link on PM I would appreciate it.

Theres another white quest for sale too. Just saw it 2 days ago on Marktplaats.

PS. There’s a 2010 e51 coming to the Netherlands in August? Somebody from Amsterdam bought an XL that is being shipped right now.

You’re losing stakes here mr @Richard Fox

Saw the white one buddy! The E52 Nismo was the nicest though!
Nice to hear another E51 is coming! 👍

The nismo one is definately nice.
The white quest on the other hand (the grey one also) looks like a Chyrsler Voyager made love to a Nissan Micra and then somebody smashed the nose with a mosquito bat and pressed the button to electocute it. At least the nose looks a bit dull to me. Def soccer mom vibes, sorry in advance to the future owner(s).

Agree that front end also has Mondeo vibes! lol

So we have 2 ‘new’ Elgrands in The Netherlands. (at least 2 that I can confirm)

An imported ‘06 XL and the Metallic grey one that was dormant for a long time with the blown engine. So technically not new, just getting revived ☺️ (by the new owner).

That one was already here for a long time as I heard of it years ago. New owner bought the engine that was at the breakersyard here in NL, extremely lucky!

This calls for a meeting in the future 😂👌🏽 Maybe with the Germans that are nearby in the Nordrhein Westfalia area.

I wonder what he paid for the engine?!
When I contacted them they seemed extremely rude when I enquired about headlights!

it was a mere 1k. Dirt cheap.
I almost bought it myself. I thought maybe a 350z owner snagged it but yesterday I found out it was him.

Did you rang them in Dutch by the way? 😅 Even in Dutch I sometimes can’t understand those guys on the phone.

Last time I just went to there to avoid the standard grumpyness. Didnt even bother ringing them, just go go go 🤣

And as I stood at his counter there were already like 3 guys in front of me. wanting this…wanting that…stuff that wasn’t on the inventory list. And then 3 calls came in. Then someone from the back wanted something.
And this was the owner himself juggling all the people.

I don’t know how it is elsewhere in Europe
or the world but grumpy is the word that matches the best.

When it was my turn it was the calm after the storm. He picked up my parts and he was really interested in the car, asking stuff about it. So that was a first.

However the same grumpyness goes for Van Deijne breakersyard. Theyre not there for their hospitality 🤣

The headlights are still for sale though. Just saw them yesterday on their site.

Gutted that is cheap although trying to find someone here to fit the engine would be another problem! lol
I emailed them in dutch but then phoned in English as they didn't respond for weeks!
Might pinch the headlights from my silver one as one is brand new and the other extremely good condition.

Getting anything done on a car, in the Netherlands, that is not a standard Golf or Polo is often a hassle. The mechanics who actually like working on cars seems to be dying out. They want parts availability withing 2 hours and parts in…parts out. Car gone within a day.

Been looking for a place to work on my cars myself but after years still havent found anything and the scarce amount of ‘clubs’ with people who work on their own cars are always full.
