Asbo and Absolution what time are you planing on coming through the tunnel, want to meet up at Thurrock services and convoy up?

Sounds like a plan LittleG. I think we will be leaving around 6am and its just over an hour or so to get up to Dartford Crossing. Does 7.30 sound ok? Did a planner and it says its about 2h 40mins journey from down where we are.

Yup sounds good to me. See you in the car park at thurrock services at about 7:30

Sounds good see you at Thurrock services Little G and Absolution Just got to remember to pay the toll tunnel this time

Ha yeah I just signed up for an account as I'm working in Portsmouth for 5 weeks, saves a few pence every crossing

Hey guys keep a look out for an E50 (Orange and Black) as Kelvin is coming up from the south to join us on the EOC stand he isn't sure what time he will be on the way so you might pass him on the motorway.

Probably won't miss that

Got home today and while the kids were sleeping popped out and started cleaning. Time is very limited before Sunday morning. I've hoovered it out, and cleaned up the door shuts. Tomorrow it will get a wash and maybe a polish or I might just polish it on the stand. Will definitely be polishing the Windows once I'm there. Engine bay will need a going over too.
Looks like it should be a dry weekend

Well I managed to clean out the inside, then got my steps out to clean the roof finding that every square inch was covered in hard brown spots of tree sap, that took me ages to get off but wouldn't have looked good from the spectator banking if it had been left on. Its nice living with trees all round us but a pain at this time of year. I then washed the truck and dried it, cleaning under the bonnet, I will be like you G and polishing it on the show stand when we get there.
By the way Mark, Adam and G, Kelvin (orange and black E50) should be joining you at Thurrock services at 7.30, don't be late setting off if he don't turn up as none of us have met him yet.

Not a prob Brian I will be there at 0700 and I will be rolling out at 0730.
Today I pressure washed it and gave it a shampoo and gave the engine bay a wipe. I then waxed it while the shepards pie was in the oven. Then once the missus went out and kids were asleep, car seats were out and seats spun for demo mode.
Will do windows, exhaust and remove the bugs once there and give it the once over.
I took it to work the other week and had to park in the gravel car park under a load of trees for a week. Not good.

Well, I've washed mine and it really, really needed it too! Fortunately, tinted windows hide a multitude of sins and nobody is going to be looking under my bonnet...

I expect we will be stopping of at jnc 21 for breakfast too, so will probably see you there Brian.

Simon

Good show today...

Apologies if I didn't introduce myself to anyone I haven't met before, not easy getting the balance right between occupying the child / socialising!

My boy (Albert) was more interested in seeing Asbolution / LittleG go down the strip than the jet car  Must admit, it was funny seeing / hearing the difference between Elgrands and a jet engine

Took a few pictures, will post them when I get a chance... There was talk of a shared photobucket (or similar) account being setup - did that ever happen?

Simon

Good to meet everyone yesterday, you all seem friendly so far. :)

I'll upload photos when I can.

Thanks to @edduk for the tip on the e51 phase 2 mph fascias now being available. :)

Yes mate, there is a joint account. I'll PM you the details :)

I had a great day, albeit a tired one! Won't be doing that distance again with such little sleep. I didn't feel safe driving home :wtf:

Yes already bought one last night. :)

Thanks again.

All those that went to The Pod, it was good to see more Elgrands getting together and the owners having fun with them. Was good to see Mark and G on the strip and I would have been there with you if they hadn't locked me out of the sign on office. We will be going to next years Jap meets at the pod and we need more info on any local car club shows in each area so we can attempt to turn up to as many good shows as we can in 2016.
How about a Track Day at Donington Park? just for fun. We have a car show on Wollaton Park in Nottingham in June Time which is quite well attended and I know of another at Hinkley in Leicestershire that is quite big, I will post up as I get the info.

My photos are here, you can view them even without a Facebook account.

Excuse the photos of 'normal' cars :)

Excellent photos Minty. Hope you aren't including standard Elgrands like mine in that "normal cars" category
You got judges choice then? Congratulations!!

By the way, was it just genuine Micro Machines in your display you had in the back? I have a few Tomytec 1:150 elgrands that would fit in nicely if not ;) Not sure I'd be able to get my boy to part with any though!

Simon

Cheers Simon, I meant normal as opposed to car/van/bus MPVs ;)

Yes very chuffed to get an award only 7 months into ownership :)

They were genuine micromachines but it's a general toy theme so I might be interested if you do have a spare Elgrand.
