Red car with key symbol flashing in the dash

I suggest to also replace at least one of the fob batteries to eliminate them from the enquiry. If they are of the same age, both could be weak.

It was jump started with a battery pack, started on first turn, so can't see that being an issue.

On recommendation I changed the key fob battery, and that sorted the issue after starting the ignition.

My guess is that fob itself needed a reboot after the flat battery as the fob battery was OK, so guessing it would have worked just removing and replacing the fob battery.

Anyway, grateful its fine now. Car battery is OK, think it went flat after lots of opening and closing the electric door when cleaning, then did a short drive and picked a few people up where the door was in use again. All good now, and thanks for the advice

Hi, sorry to bother you I just wondered after reading your post if you got any further with your problem? I can see it was a number of years since you posted on here. I have a similar problem flashing key light and noise but my car won't start. It turns over and then just cuts out like it's run out of fuel.

Changed key fob batteries and checked car battery. Any help or information is appreciated.

I also have the constant beeping after everything is turned off. I recently had a flat battery and not sure what has changed to cause the quiet chirping noise. It sounds like it might be a reminder to turn something off but I c find it for the life of me. Any ideas?

Are the batteries the correct thickness and quality brand like Duracell?

Yes, the correct batteries for the fob and quality brand. The remote central locking works OK off them and opens all the doors.

As mentioned on your other thread, it would be a good idea to read the fault codes. If the car has had a flat battery and was jump started this can cause all sorts of issues with the security system and you may even need to have the keys recoded but it could be another issue entirely, so without reading the codes it's just guesswork.

If the engine actually fires up then dies could well be one of the engine sensors, crankshaft position sensor for instance.

Hi, yes someone on FB said they had a similar problem and it was crankshaft sensors. Hopefully, the AA can read the fault codes and get me to a garage.

Thanks

Hello,
I've had the vehicle checked over at my garage (AA were useless at finding anything) and the issue turned out to be a MAF sensor. Apparently they regulate fuel hence why it turned over then stopped. Got a new one for £55. Easy to fit yourself two minute job. Hope this helps anyone with a similar issue.

Thanks for all your replies and help.
