Rear Screen VTR Selct

I’m having an issue with the VTR, got an after market stereo all installed and working. Removed the rear drop down screen and put in a stand alone unit. All working ok.

I have the rear RCA/VTR inputs and I’ve put a video out into this to mirror display on the VTR option on the front screen (I’ll deal with handbrake afterwards). Plugged in, the yellow RCA cable to the rear input and go to the TV option, scroll right to the last option, click and no change. Tried the remote, nothing. I can’t seem to get the VTR option to select! It worked before the radio install so what am I missing!!
 
When you say it doesn't select VTR, do you mean it doesn't select the input, or it selects the input but shows no picture?

Not changing the input it stays on TV no matter how many times I click it!
 
Does the select button work for other functions?
 
Yea all working for the other menus, can switch to nav, side cam etc and go into vehicle settings no problem. As soon as I select TV the moving and selection goes sluggish and nothing when clicked on actually then selects so it's purely on the TV option. It does highlight orange when clicked but just stays as is no matter how many times I try!
 
If you've totally removed the rear screen it may be a canbus error. Try jumping pins 9 and 10 on the connector.
 
Hi all. Firstly I LOVE MY Elgrand AND SO DO MY KIDS! I've used a Bluetooth receiver in the lighter to connect for music which now means I'm subjected to the kids playlist on Spotify. Although I've discovered the Music box and been filling with CDs.
In 3 days we're off to Scotland from Somerset. Long haul but Elgrand has been running fine so not worried, just excited.
I've tried HDMI box to RCA leads. Tried a second box. Now trying a WiFi dongle but still no joy with picture on screens. Can't even work out how to change to VTR on TV settings with CARWINGS dash or remote. Can't afford a new double din system yet. Any ideas from anybody would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome. As Magnu has said if you post in the introduction thread you will get more replies. You need 10 posts to access technical information or pay something (no sure how much) to become a premium member. You could reply to Magnu's post and my post for a start. I assume that your head is a replacement and not an original with Japanese text. There is certainly information on the forum as to how to connect up replacement heads to the rear screen. Pressing the right buttons to drop the rear screen and get a signal from the head unit to the rear screen will also be covered somewhere, if not one of the members will advise you.

Thanks for advice. Trying different suggestions from feeds on this group, Facebook groups and YouTube. Still no joy and today discovered a second? tuner box so still experimenting.

You understand that you have to run your own RCA leads from the back of the head to the RCA sockets in the back of the car? Well at least a yellow video lead anyway. I've never understood the point of running the two audio leads as there is no speaker in the drop down screen.
 
I’m having trouble with my S3 connect a HDMI2AV selector ntsc plugged it in the the rear socket but can’t find VTR can anyone help

Do I need

Elgrand E51 External Input VTR Adapter​

If so where can I get one Amazon jp won’t deliver

Should be just a case of pressing the aux button on the head unit to display the signal if your plugged into the 3 rca sockets.
 
The second tuner needs to be on aux also.
