Insuring your Elgrand

Mine went up £90, to £442. That was renewing through Aviva. The comparison websites were starting at £500 for me.
I'm on Multicar with Admiral, Last year was £900ish for Elgrand, Motorhome & Chevy tow-car combined. Renewal due in a month so fingers-crossed for no big surprises

Just getting a quote for mine.

Admiral - £549.22
Adrian Flux - £696
Direct Line - £729.90

Yet to call Sky insurance as they are shut (I assum these? https://safelyinsured.co.uk/blog/2021/03/sky-insurance-is-now-safely-insured)

Then i'll call greenlight tomorrow afterwards and see.
To conclude this for others. We added 'Business use, class 1' as my wife will be a child minder at some point in this policy.

- Admiral £550 with multi car discount (went direct but forgot to mention Wife is main driver and needed business). Agreed a call back today at the end of the day as it seemed reasonable.
- Direct line - £689 or £729 with business use.
- Sky Insurance - Not interested.
- Aviva - Declined
- Howden (I have home and works van with them, very good professional company) - £635. Wont give a quote for business till the time comes but estimate around £100/ £150 for the year.
- Greenlight (with club discount) - £560 but wont insure for business.
Considering we both had none fault accidents in last 12 months. My car was a write off and hers was repaired I was expecting the £500 mark all in.

I felt i was going round in circles from one extreme to another. I was waiting for Greenlight to call back and was getting anxious of time as it was coming up to 4.30pm. I just typed into google "Jap import class 1 business car insurance" and the following site came up. Never heard of them: https://www.moneyexpert.com/

I did the reg and it found it right away and proceeded with my details as like everyone else. Admiral came in at £436.00, this was fully comp without Windscreen, Legal or Hire Car and did cover business. With these all added it came in £580. Told the guy on the phone what i did and he managed to do the original quote for £530.00 all in!

Pays to shop around

Try Churchill just had my renewal £327 fully comp

My renewals are coming in around this price.
Lowest was Ageas essentials at £250ish though and Trustpilot reviews are OK although I have never heard of them.
I would like to move away from Aviva zero as reviews are not great in the event you do need to claim.

Japcover aka Mark Richards was my best quote this time around. I will never use Flux, they were a massive pain in the bum.
