Fuel Economy

I had to ditch my Elgrand recently and picked up a ford galaxy....it's not the same but it did 52mpg on the run home from Peterborough to Leeds....you can't argue with that!!

Hi everyone,
I took delivery of my Autech Rider 3.5 last week. Today was the first ride out, 93 miles covered on A roads at a speed of 50 - 60mph. I'm still finding my way around the settings and the display but looking at the fuel consumption information, it says my average consumption is 8.6 km per litre? That's just over 35 MPG? Can that possibly be correct?🤔

Hi Keith, isn't 8.6 around 24mpg?

Hi Kermit,
I thought 4.5 litres to the gallon, so 8.6 x 4.5. = 38.7. Am I going wrong somewhere? 24 MPG is much closed to what I expected.

24.2934 mpg

That's imperial gallons.

Hi Stempy,
Thanks, the milage both you and Kermit are quoting is what I expected. I'm obviously reading the information wrong, what does the 8.6km/l refer to.

You are missing the fact that km and miles are different lengths :p

Either way you are getting what is expected so don't worry about it, enjoy.

I'd be proud of 24mpg.

Thank you both for the info', sorry for appearing thick😂. My next ride out will be back to school.

You're not thick and welcome to the forum, fuel isn't great of course but the car offers so much in so many ways.

Thanks for the welcome. Early days, but so far I'm very impressed. Such a smooth and comfortable ride.

And there's no harm in wishful thinking.

Hey no worries and if we all agreed on her that yes you were getting 35mpg you'd be none the wiser so carry on thinking that and you'll be over the moon lol

I'd be proud of 24mpg.
Me too....£30 in last week.....it's.only been to and from school 4 times, hospital once and two trips to COVID testing sites....struggling to have done more than 60miles....😳
Very comfortable miles though 😉
