You’re walking the exact path I walked and am still walking Plenty of answers on the boards here, and this week I’m planning to implement the Aux fix too. Plenty of advice around the boards for that too, and LeStempy is the encyclopaedia!
For your RcA, short answer is:

1. Is yours an E51 S3? The one with Carwings on the console.
2. Do you have the third remote that came with your Elgrand? The dvd one. If so press Aux on that and might work.
3. Make sure you have a Pal to NTSC signal converter as your van is Japanese
4. If still doesn’t work you can remove the original tv tuner located in the rear right corner of van and rewire the plug so that your Aux RCA will run straight to the screens.

Thank you very much kind sir just what I am looking for. All sorted now . Sorry for the late reply been away for a few day's. Next job is power conversion and site hookup then both front seats to convert to swivel seats and remove rear seats.

Daft question: where it says “connect to ground”, does that mean any ground source or is it pointing to the empty slot between 52 and 56? i.e. do you ground it by plugging it into the empty slot?

Connect to any ground point such as thr HU casing.
