E51 E51 Aircon Pipe Corrosion (Rear)

£200 for a good replacement air con pipe

Seems to me this issue is from the rear tyre slinging water and thus salt on the pipes in winter. Is this an issue with vans fresh from Japan?
Must look at ours.

Where from? I thought the concensus on this complicated pipe-within-a-pipe was that it's a dealer only part, from Japan, at a cost of over a grand!??

From a @stevemen and his business Tojo motors, the specialist Elgrand breakers maybe? 😁

So, are these of broken vehicles then? Any chance of posting a picture of said pipe, just to see if it looks like mine?

Yes mate they are a grand from Japan.
But like the lads said , they are from elgrands we have broke and are breaking. Some pipes are useless and get binned others are good. All depends how much they used the rear Air con as the damage occurs due to corrosion caused by the difference in ambient temperature when the air con is in use.
Selling a few off cheap as we have quite a number of these pipes in stock at the moment and they are difficult to store due the size and fragility.
No postage. Collection only or arrange your own Courier at your own risk.

I'm pretty sure I recall two pipes under the rear corner of ours. Will have a look on the weekend. Or is that normal, meaning from the rear. Is the single pipe headed out toward the front?

The two pipes you refer to are heater pipes. There's also a single twin walled alloy pipes for the a/c. That weaves it's way forward and connects near the engine bay in the area below where the passenger seat is located.

Steve since there's no delivery option on them would you be interested in fitting?

Yea we have fitted a few of these Chris. But it's not a straightforward or quick job, hence not cheap as rear sub frame needs to be dropped to feed it throu.
Some Sub frames aren't to bad to drop others are a nightmare as the liner in the bush sometimes is corroded and welds itself to the bolts. Can be a full day job.
Then there's the cost of regassing , which has increased quite a bit in recent weeks due to government regulations forcing them all to use a new much more expensive type of refrigerant . Eco friendly but not pocket friendly lol.

Think I got the dreaded Air Con Leak (2003 S1) Can any one confirm it is this pipe for the rear aircon. Plus how hard/easy to blank off so just front is working.

No that looks like the Water Heater pipes

Thanks for quick responses @stevemen and @Andyzz. Appreciate it.Thought is was aircon because of the green colour of the liquid. So I am guessing I have to replace hose elbow? Easy to source?

Hi if I was you I would speak to @stevemen he breaks Elgrand's or you can ring him on 07946410415

Sorry should have said the only other way you are going to get a new one is from Japan is going to be expensive
