Any Thoughts On Using Wobble Nuts

I am looking to get a set of new wheels for the Audi Q3 that I have recently bought my wife and have seen a nice set of Work split rims that I like that are 19x9 but are a 5x114.3 pdc (same as the Elgrand) with a 38 offset where as the Audi is a 112 pdc

Due to a combination of the width of the wheel and the offset it seems that if I fit 5x112 spacer adapters to fit to the 113.4 wheels which it seems I can only get in a minimum of 20mm this is going to be right on the edge of fitting and will potentially rub on the outside wing

Without the adapter spacers they should fit fine.

To get around this I could fit wobble nuts rather than the adapters but am a bit dubious of them.

Any one used wobble nuts and thoughts on them please.

Edited to add that I have now found 15mm adapter spacers but this looks like it is still going to be really tight so would still welcome any thoughts on wobble nuts

When I was younger and dafter I drove a Fiat x1/9 from the North East to Italy on wobble bolts, vibration whe whole way

Will perhaps keep looking as the Works will need a part refurb and by the time this is added to the cost of them along with either adapter spacers which following a bit more research it looks like I can get custom made up in a 10 mm width which is the smallest they will make which would still be a bit on the tight side and they would cost £250 for 4 or even if I went for the wobble nuts the cost would be an extra £40 minimum so will most likely stick to getting the new wheels in a 112 pdc as this them would be a nice easy fit even if the wheels were a bit more money to start with and I would feel a lot more confident about any problems that the wobble nuts might cause.

Just won these

Lowenart LW10 112 pdc 20x8.5 with a 35 offset which will go straight on and apart from a couple of very minor marks look to be virtually as new and even got Audi centre caps as they had been on a A6

They are in brushed dark grey and I have found a few pictures of them on white SUV's including a Q5 and they seem to suit them really well

Although not 2 piece split rims bonus is that they were a bit cheaper than the Work wheels and won't need any money spent on a refurb or adapters etc.

Nice wheels and I’m happy you won them, mainly because you mentioned wobble nuts, I dislike these massively.
Wobble nuts/bolts are said to be ok if pdc is only a couple of mm out but they do mean that your wheels are only centralised by the hub, if that isn’t perfect then your relying on spigot rings etc.
Wobble nuts will by nature of design throw the wheel off centre unless the centre bore is perfect where the correct wheels with the correct pcd will have an opposite effect ( wheels automatically centre).
Wobble nuts with incorrect bore size or soft spigot rings etc cause alsorts of vibrations etc and worse.
Did I mention , I don’t like wobble nuts

Was trying to find a excuse to buy the Work wheels but like you have never been convinced by wobble nuts as I did like the the wheels but happy now with what I bought, lot less hassle and quite a bit less money too after all the extra's needed and I do think that the ones I have bought will actually suit the car better and it is only my wife's car not my Elgrand

I’ve seen those lowenhart wheels on a few cars, elgrands included, they tend to look the dogs to be fair

This is what convinced me to go for them, on aQ5 rather than Q3 which although a bit smaller is virtually the same shape.
The car I have bought for her is the same colour in glacier mettalic white

Hopefully they will turn up at about the same time as the car arrives

Been told by Zenmarket that the seller of the wheels is telling them that they do not have the wheels anymore and Zenmarket have refunded my account.

Suspect that this is because I got them for a really good price and they will resurface again in the future.

Will keep looking for replacements but no rush as the car has what looks to be virtually new PIreilli Cinturato's on and the original 17 inch wheels apart from a couple of very minor curb marks look in really good nick and might as well get a bit of use out of these first.

On a more positive note have also just been told that the car is booked for shipping on the 28/01/26 on the SEVEN SEAS HIGHWAY (V-159) with a eta of the 16/03/26 to Bristol
