Remember when......

Charley Says… was a series of six public information films telling the tale of Tony and his cat Charley (voiced by Kenny Everett) as they got themselves into various life-threatening situations. Charley saved Tony when he warned him against going off with a dodgy looking man in the park.
Sadly Tony did not return the favour by saving Charley from multiple injuries when pulling a table cloth off the table. Nor did he dissuade him from jumping into a canal. Tony was a bad cat owner.

We also had the Green Cross Code Man in the 70's. He was David Prowse this was how he looked when he came out of retirement to try to 'Encourage adults not to text or listen to music while crossing the road'.

I don't think so he died 3yrs ago just old enough to know him as green Cross code man but was more memorable as Darth Vader.

You're right sorry for reporting fake news, when I found the picture with a link to the Daily Mail I mistakenly thought it was somthing that was reported today. Sorry for any distress caused to anyone. I have edited my post as it is still two great then and now photos of someone many of us remember.

Thank you for bringing my mistake to my attention.
