Motorway will egg you on, ask you to call them as they " can't give an online price".WBAC puts its vehicles through its parent company auctions so you may as well cut out the middleman. Notorious company for knocking down prices initially quoted, not to mention braindead adverts. Some time ago I made enquiries and found a better deal via Evans Halshaw Carstore. Obviously an Elgrand is more specialist so better to sell to recognised dealers if you don't want the hassle of private buyers/tyre kickers. Motorway.co.uk might be another option.
Their system does not recognise Elgrands because they are imports so the local guy said. He contacted HO in Manchester who had access to another database which recognised it. He had to send copy VRD and photos to HO to get a figureDoes webuy recognise the Elgrand? I put in a few reg plates off AutoTrader Elgrands (which have DVLA MOT histories etc) and webuy returns 'Sorry, we couldn't find your car'.
If you then manually input details, there isn't an Nissan----Elgrand option in the drop down menu, either.
Yeah, I thought it might be along those lines. Pity as it's good to have a general idea how much they're going to offer before you go to see them.Their system does not recognise Elgrands because they are imports so the local guy said. Yes, I was in an ASDA car park earlier walking the dog and had a chat with a webuy guy 'just for fun'. He was trying to argue a case that the online price would be for a 'showroom condition car'. Being an avid detailer, I said 'no, it'd be for an above average/excellent condition car, of that age with that mileage'. He tired to argue that the price would go down if even a stone chip was present and it was non-showroom. I laughed and said 'so a well detailed, stunning condition car at 25K miles and 4 years old (random example), looking better than 99% of cars in any car park whatever the car's age, would still get marked down for a small stone chip'?? Too funnyAnd once you get there, they start knocking it down as they go round and find "issues"
The trade don't like them unless you go to an importer, it's the same with service unless you can find a garage that services others. If you find a mechanic that willing to get stuck in look after him.On a connected topic (excuse the diversion), but is passing on/selling one's Elgrand, in general, an issue, because of their imported status? I mean, is it easy to part exchange at a dealership, say, if your trade in is an Elgrand, or are their stories where places say 'sorry bud, we don't take imported vehicles as part exchanges'?
