Today i lifted a sack of Rock Salt onto a bench, it wasn't particularly heavy maybe 25 kilos.

I felt a sharp sting in my eye and a popping sensation, when i looked in the mirror my eye looked like this.


Are there any eye doctors here......will i live....was eye shot ?

Rick salt isn’t a very nice substance mate, did you wash/flush your eye with water
If it’s not getting any better go get it checked out

The bag was sealed, it was more like Andre said 'pressure' and pop.

I shall rest it for 7 hrs and see what it looks like tomorrow. 💤💤💤

Working under cars I used to get bits in my eyes often, could be anything like bits of rust or dirt. Still happens fairly often now but a bit less often since I've worn glasses all the time for the last few years. If you get stuff in your eyes they can get like that after a while (of being scratched etc) but not immediately... So I'd heed Stempys advice of a general health check even if it gets better.

Also a few years ago my son suddenly started seeing 'floaters' in one of his eyes, he wasn't doing anything around that time that we'd think could cause it. Just to be clear (pun?) his eye looked nothing like yours, just looked normal, the doctor and eye specialist at the hospital following an eye scan both said iIrc it could be due to some discoloured fluid or scar tissue somewhere in the middle of his eye, could be a delayed result of a car he was in 10 years ago. They ruled blood pressure out at an early point but they did the test because high blood pressure is something that can cause that kind of thing.

I reckon docs will say a minor blood vessel burst which can happen at any age but gets more likely with your old age (lol) but I'm no doctor and its worth seeing one. Heard of Eyeball Paul, now there's Eyeball Pete.

Me too if Specsavers do that? Years ago I went to 2 local opticians, can't remember if either of them is a Specsavers though, to ask if they'd have a quick look at my eyes after getting stuff in them, both of them said they didn't do that kind of thing and I should go to A&E.

I've resorted to getting a Qtip down the side of my eyeball to get foreign objects out myself lol.

Apparently my local A&E is full to capacity - ONLY EMERGENCY CASES WILL BE ADMITTED -




Im not too worried though as i haven't had a Stroke in a while, I'm quite looking forward to it.

Sorry to read this Pete. When was your first stroke, the last, how old were you around the time of peak strokes and how many would you say you've had altogether?

My dads old mate had a stroke and it badly affected his health, had another and now he can't even get out of bed. But my mate reckons he's had loads of strokes and he still seems as fit as a fiddler. He read the best place to have a stroke was in A&E, ended up having an arrest in A&E waiting area.

A decent optician should do an eye scan/checkups, my wife has high blood pressure and started seeing flashes and floaters, went to opticians and the scan showed retinal tears in both eyes, straight into Hull eye hospital and they were lasered the next day, all ok now but you can't be too careful, probably only a burst blood vessel but for £25 quid for a check up, or free if over 60 at the moment its worth it for peace of mind.

Why are the Met office and 'BBC' claiming mist and fog where I am, and have been all day, and claim it was when you look retrospectively....when it's been a bright blue sky, with a bright, fat sun all day lol
