I have never owned a diesel engine vehicle, so I have always just called them engines and included type, straight or V and size!

And I am too old to change as well.

I’m bored of it already, today i accidentally pressed a button on the steering wheel that limits the speed.

It wouldn’t go over 20MPH - thought I had killed it and it had gone into limp home mode, I was about 15 mins from home the worst 15 minute drive I can remember.

Anyway, got it home and reported the fault to the Boss who swiftly turned off the limiter function and showed me were the volume buttons were on the steering wheel.

I don't mind the term 'ice', internal combustion engine, originally used to differentiate from 'ece' external combustion engines like steam engines.

But I was never sure if Vanilla Ice's ice ice baby referred to the engine or in car entertainment.

I was maybe 7 years old the first time I saw a lithium battery ignite. Was on a school trip and happened on the coach, one of the kids messed with the lithium battery out of his Polaroid camera lol.

I was charging two odd sized lithium torch batteries in the Chinese two pin charger supplied.

They went on fire (or one did) and melted the charger and socket it was plugged into, luckily they were on charge in my workshop and not my house.

The fire didn't spread further than the socket but there was black, floaty soot hanging around for days.

PS The batteries were called FIRESTICK quite appropriate.

Edited to add, my batteries were branded SURE FIRE......even worse.

Sorry to post three on the bounce but no one else is posting…….

Whilst curled up in my warm bed I put the deicer / heater on in my wife’s EV from the app on the phone as I needed to go out early.

I got into the car and it was warm inside and free of snow and ice, I felt rather smug and happy with our new toy.

Then as I drove off the drive I noticed that my de icing feature had used 6 % of the battery, now I don’t know the cost for this but I think 6 % of the battery is approx 10 miles

Not feeling so smug now.
