What have you done to your Elgrand today?

I need to wash mine first but good to see silver looking so nice. I have a bar ready to use but what did you use as clay lube please.some spray polish at one point and
Some ordinary spray polish and also tried water with a little washing up liquid, i found no preference. I did not see the need for a £16 bottle of magic stuff. I mainly got stuck into the lunes of grime around the sliding door handles and under the mirrors and windows. Glass came up lovely, did that dry.

Thank you. Nice one 👍

You might mean the 2 water pipes that connect to the rear heater matrix?

I'm not sure what the Australian equivalent of our annual vehicle MOT test is, will it pass such test if you leave the rear bumper removed and chop sections of metal out of the corners?
I am in Vancouver, Canada. We do not have an annual inspection.

My mistake, though I do know Vancouver is in Canada lol. I think I'd been reading some posts by Australian members but not taking note of the user names, then when I read your post I only read 'rest of world' not 'Vancouver'.

Still, I didn't know you don't have an annual vehicle inspection in Canada.

Got my second fob and key for our new Elgrand. A nice gentleman from Kits Keys came up from Newtown and had it all done within an hour . He'd never done an Elgrand before but a handy video on this forum showed him how to take the dash out to get the immobiliser code.! Very pleased I now have a second/spare fob and key......even if it is in the wife's handbag 😆

What did that cost you @Justin in Os ? I'm only up the road in Wrexham and really need a second key if only for insurance purposes, did he supply the second key?

Finally got my dash and all my interior clean. Been around 14hrs spent cleaning over the last few weeks. Still want to do another carpet shampoo but we’re getting there.
Also added a great performance mod… Brembo decals onto my red calipers 🤣
Next is polishing.

It's bloody neverending with these motors ..god am I pleased I took out the second cats when I bought it ..mine blew a great cloud of gray dust into the face of a pesky golf GTi and started to rattle like hell then after some spirited hill climbing the rattle stopped .. obviously the passenger side front cat has broken up or started to and been blown out the rear ..look 1000001236.jpgat the dust in the tail pipes...I had a missfire on number 2 and found the coil pack loose so maybe rich running destroyed the front cat IMG_20250413_133117.jpg

Polished headlights using Cerakote Ceramic Restoration Kit. Reasonably easy to apply, hardest part being finding a cover for a surprise rain, so the coating has a chance to sure. Noticeable results, especially from a side view

First ever attempt at headlight restoration.

Overall, a significant improvement, but not totally happy. I think I either went in too hard with the lower grit paper or rushed that stage as I've ended up with some circular scratches on the driver's side.

Will have to give it another go when the weather allows.

And yeah... headlight restoration is back destroying. My spine is dust 😂

I sourced the key/fob myself off of Ebay and I paid him £150. He said if he could do yours for £180 all in if he can source the fob/key for about £30
Also, the Saturday before last when coming past Wrexham an Elgrand pulled up alongside me at a roundabout and we waved at each other.. was that perchance you? 🤣

Wasn't me mate, I'm parked up with a dicky gearbox. I've been out and about with work in Newtown and beyond, probably seen you but you won't see me LOL. Big install at Oswestry School next two weeks, I'll be in the works van. If you see a Rawson Digital Mercedes Luton, I'm the auld fella in the passenger seat 👍

Could be worse Keith, you could be in the drivers seat
