What have you done to your Elgrand today?

I just did one of the headlights with the Autoglym restoration kit.
It was childs play and I'm very pleased.
(The passenger side looks far worse than the photo shows actually!)
Passenger side tomorrow morning....

We used Autosol to clean our lights! Mostly worked well but we found that there is a rather thick, hard, yellow/orange layer which is peeling but will not buff off at all. Any ideas? Clare

I'm new to this. Guessing there's a protective film or a layer of sealant on yours?

Could possibly be a coat of something like uv sealant, they come with some of the restoration kits, or maybe clear coat that I've heard added.
Might need to get a kit with the different grades of sandpaper on a polisher or drill and proper go for it... Seems a bit scary to start off but honestly gives the best results... If I could do it anyone can 👍🏻

As part of my work I'm used to the polishing process with other materials and have everything I need already. I bought the autoglym kit on impulse but it's actually really good.
You've got to not be afraid to get stuck in.
And a decent cordless drill will help.
I'll do step by step photos tomorrow when I do the other side and create a separate thread...
Can't imagine better results but I'm always open to new ideas...

Or just give in and get headlamp Covers 🙆🏻‍♂️
I agree but am biased.

Thank you! We tried some wet and dry sandpaper which did smooth the rough edges and ‘blend’ it in a little but would be great to remove it completely. It did cross our minds that it could do with a polisher/drill like you suggested but you’re right about it sounding scary 😳 It is good to know that you have done it and will give us the courage to try it…will let you know how it goes!

Thank you 😊 will look forward to seeing your photos.

It's a beautiful day so I took her for a spin up to Crickley Hill Country Park. Been meaning to visit for a while but somehow never got around to it. Beautiful place and a beautiful drive in the Kami Van, who was, of course, the Queen of the car park 😊

Also took a packed lunch and a flask of tea, rearranged the seats and set up the middle as a table, and spent some time (at last) enjoying the comfort and serenity of the rear of the Ellie, from where I am now chilling and posting this, looking forward to the leisurely drive home. 🤘😍😊

Not me but the Mrs... She's 'treated'!! Me to a Scentsy fan for the bus... Got these burner things all over the house now they're following me into the flying brick!
My van hasn't been smoked in and smells good, but there's a definite manly "funk" to the smell inside.
My wife thinks the owner in Japan must have drenched himself in some (unknown) Japanese aftershave!
