It is apparent that there are so many variants to the Elgrand, Unless the previous owner passes on the information, (presuming they know) how do you tell which variant you have? Rider etc? I have absolutely no idea which mine is and neither did the previous owner.
 
Second the above, post a photo of what you have

The v/ vg relates mainly to the extra options such as sunroof, power sliding doors, folding mirrors etc, some you might have , some you might not
The main thing you need to know for parts etc is that it is a series 1

Stick your chassis number in here, to get confirmation of V/VG/X/XL/Highway Star and any factory options fitted:

Easiest place to find the chassis number is to open the driver's door and prise open the little flap in the plastic trim near the base of the seat, on the floor between seat and door (if that makes sense - open door and look down and to the left)
 
Thanks, have done that, says it's a E51 XL. Great to get advice on here, least i know what i have bought now !!! 😃
 
It'll have seven seats then rather than eight and sit a bit higher than other models.
