Does anyone know where I can get a towbar to fit my 2014 e52 series III Highway Star? I cant find anything?

Try these Elgie. They have outlets all over the country i was led to believe. I have mine booked in for fitting in May. Not the cheapest on the market but talking to the company they sound pretty good. Jury is out until its fitted but fingers crossed. PS i am only using mine for a bike carrier so check your towing torques.

Scrub around that recommended. Went to have mine fitted today and it was the wrong one. .mines a Oct 2010 and the tow bar was up to Sept 10. Gutted. I am sure someone said you can import them. Anyone got any contacts please.

Not mine but saw this on Facebook market place

There are quite a few on the Japan Auctions brand new with all wiring included stating from about £300 but with the 10% Japan tax, Japan shippng, proxy fees UK shipping, Import duty , Vat and UK carriers fees the costs all adds up.

Due to the weight and size the only viable shipping method would be surface and I am not sure whether it would be within the size and weight limits for surface shipping although you could ask the proxy first who maybe could find out from the seller as being new it will be in its original packing and from this you should be able gauge what it would be size wise once the proxy had added there extra packing and packing normally has the weight of the package on it so could also gauge the weight

Having said that it should be ok for weight as can go up to 30kl with surface

One thing to bare in mind is that if you buy the wrong one for your Elgrand returning it is pretty much a non starter

Even then total landed cost would likely be at least the £550 plus mark with at least a 2 to 3 month wait for surface shipping.

You say you will only be using it to hold a bike carrier. Are there no other options that you could use other than a tow bar.

The ones in Japan have a 1250 kl weight limit so should be fine for a bike rack although would not be wanting to tow anything more than a small lightly loaded trailer with it unless it was braked.

If it was me and I was putting a towbar on a E52 just for a bike rack the one Rob has linked to looks a far better buy than the ones from Japan pricewise by the time all the costs have been added on and If I could do a deal on it and it was the right size to fit and all checks out ok with no twisting or damage and the correct wiring I would be all over it.

Could ask the seller what the weight limit of it is as he does not give it in his facebook add.

It looks like it might be a WItter towbar from the ball cover but that is no guarantee that is what it is.
