Shock absorbers for E52 2.5L- recommendations?

Hi All,
Had a loud rattle/clank noise from passenger side. Mechanic says it’s top mounts or shocks. Figure may as well do both seeing as it will all be in bits and reduces labour if we do one and it’s the other! Any recommendations for shock absorbers? Best to replace in pairs or not a big deal??

Best in pairs. Worth getting the diagnosis confirmed - should be able to tell what side it is and what's worn. KYB is a good Japanese OE shock absorber manufacturer.
